“Sister Wives” star Meri Brown isn’t happy about being compared to Robyn Brown. The TLC personality, 54, made it very clear during a one-on-one special with host Sukanya Krishnan.
In the sneak peek shared by E! News, Meri didn’t hold back as she shared her thoughts on Kody Brown’s comparison of Robyn to his exes, including herself, Janelle, and Christine.
Krishnan revealed during the interview that Kody “wanted to raise every wife up” to the same “divine love” he has with Robyn. Meri found Kody’s statement “unfair,” adding:
We’re all supposed to be Robyn? I’m sorry, I am Meri. I’m not going to be Robyn. I don’t want to be Robyn. I’m gonna be my own individual person. I don’t want to be her.
Meri Brown Thinks Kodi Brown Didn’t Fully Accept Her
Meri reiterated that if Kody and Robyn are “great together, that’s awesome,” but it’s just not right to compare her to his ex-wives.
The “Sister Wives” star, who confirmed her split from Kody in 2022, explained that their decades-long relationship ultimately ended because he never fully accepted her, even from the beginning.
When asked if their love could have been “equal but different,” the “Sister Wives” star said:
Only if he accepts Meri, and he didn’t accept Meri. He didn’t for the past 12 or 14 years, or maybe even more.
Janelle Brown Feels The Same Way
Meanwhile, Janelle Brown also weighed in on Kody comparing his exes to Robyn. The “Sister Wives” star echoed Meri’s sentiment that his remarks were unfair.
Speaking with the host, Janelle said it “would’ve been nice if Kody communicated that”, adding that he “never talked about that” with her.
Maybe that’s revisionist history now, too. He’s trying to be like, ‘Well I tried, I wanted to, but they just didn’t want to come along.’
As for Kody, he continues to defend his “higher love” for Robyn despite the criticism he gets for it. In a sneak peek shared by People on Thursday, May 22, the “Sister Wives” star said:
You find higher love, and then everybody just slaps you down for it? I’ll tell you what. There’s a divine aspect about my relationship with Robyn, and we have been bitch slapped for it.
Kody added that he truly loves Robyn and wants “peace” in their relationship. However, he said he’s “so sick and tired of being guilted for loving” her.
Kody first legally married Meri in April 1990, followed by spiritual marriages with Janelle in 1993 and Christine in 1994. In 2010, he spiritually married Robyn as well. However, in December 2014, Kody legally divorced Meri so he could legally marry Robyn instead.
