‘Sister Wives’ Shocker: Kody Brown Does a 180 on Polygamy

“Sister Wives” star Kody Brown is changing his stance on polygamy.

Following his split from his other wives, Meri, Christine, and Janelle Brown, the TLC star said plural marriage is no longer a possibility. However, his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, may not feel the same way.

In an exclusive preview of Sunday’s episode shared by ET, Kody reveals where he stands on polygamy at the moment. When host Sukanya Krishnan asks if he sees himself taking another wife, Kody gives a firm response.

No. Hell no! And I’ll tell you why. Because we already failed. I would never try plural marriage again because, at this point, it’s off the table. Because it was taken off the table.

Is Robyn Brown Still Open to Polygamy?

Kody also noted that Robyn has been just as emotionally affected by the split from the other wives, saying she’s been broken in the same way he has.

Still, that doesn’t mean Robyn is entirely closing the door on polygamy. In the same interview, the “Sister Wives” star admitted that she’s “scared to death” of plural marriage now, but is still open to it if the right person comes along.

Robyn made it clear that for her to embrace polygamy again, she would need a strong sense of assurance.

“It would have to be some sort of crazy guarantee,” she told the host. “I’d have to have God talk to me.”

Kody Brown Vows to Keep Romance With Robyn Private

Meanwhile, Kody recently opened up about the public scrutiny and judgments from his ex-wives about his and Robyn’s displays of affection. On the June 8 one-on-one special of “Sister Wives,” Kody detailed the difficulties they’re facing amid the criticisms.

It’s like the world hates true love so much that they want to be really, really crappy about it. It’s been a painful experience falling in love, not from the person I fell in love with, but from the world outside of it.

Kody added that he and Robyn “have learned to be careful,” adding that “when true love is exposed, it calls down wrath.”

The “Sister Wives” star also made a vow to keep his and Robyn’s relationship as private as possible to avoid further issues.

“Until Meri and Janelle are remarried,” Kody promised. “I will not show PDA to Robyn in front of them.”
