‘Counting On’ Star Jana Duggar Expecting First Child With Husband Stephen Wissmann

Congratulations are in order for “Counting On” alum Jana Duggar and husband Stephen Wissmann, after the couple announced their pregnancy via social media. “We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family,” the couple said via Instagram. “We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!”

The announcement came with a romantic maternity shoot, featuring black-and-white pictures of the pair kissing while cradling Duggar’s growing bump. Fans flooded the comments with love, with one saying, “Yay! Actual tears I am so happy for you. I think this is my favourite Duggar pregnancy announcement ever. ❤️”

A Love Story Years in the Making

Jana, 35, first met Wissmann back in 2011 when his Nebraska-based family, known for their gospel music ministry, visited the Duggars. At the time, she admitted he wasn’t on her radar at all, not knowing how their story would eventually unfold. But over the years, the two crossed paths often, especially after Jana’s brother Jeremiah married Wissmann’s sister Hannah in 2022.

By early 2024, sparks reignited. “It was like, ‘What are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We still really appreciate each other,’” Jana told People last year. “I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what… He must really, genuinely care about me.”

The pair quietly got engaged in June 2024 and tied the knot just two months later in a “classic, elegant” ceremony in Arkansas surrounded by 500 guests. Duggar’s sisters Jessa, Joy-Anna, Jinger, and Johannah served as bridesmaids.

The Duggar ‘Cinderella’ Finds Her Happily Ever After

For years, Duggar’s personal life, especially her love life, was a subject of speculation among loyal fans of the Duggars. As the oldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, she spent her 20s and early 30s largely at home helping raise her younger siblings.
