Wedding bells are ringing for “1000-Lb. Sisters” star Amy Slaton and her boyfriend, Brian Lovvorn. The two have only been dating for five months before taking their relationship to the next level.
During the Tuesday, May 13 episode of the hit TLC series, it was revealed that Lovvorn popped the question to Slaton last year, and it was far from a typical proposal.
Lovvorn proposed inside a padded room at Henderson Haunts, a haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky. Slaton’s sisters, Tammy and Misty, witnessed the special moment.
Brian Lovvorn Already Proposed To Amy Slaton In The Past
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Lovvorn asked Slaton to marry him. The “1000-Lb. Sisters” star told PEOPLE that he proposed to her early in the relationship.
Originally, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship. I was shocked at first, and I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.
And while Slaton only meant it as a joke, Lovvorn made sure to grant her wish, ultimately proposing at a haunted house. Aside from the untraditional engagement location, Slaton’s gothic ring is also unique. The silver band features a two skeleton hands forming a heart shape.
Tammy Slaton Thinks Sister’s Engagement Is Rushed
Meanwhile, Tammy was apprehensive about her younger sister’s engagement. Apparently, the “1000-Lb. Sisters” star thinks the engagement was rushed and fears the couple will also do the same with their wedding.
And it seems Tammy’s concerns are valid, as her sister already has a vision for her upcoming nuptials. Slaton revealed that she and Lovvorn are in the process of planning their “small, quaint” wedding.
The couple is leaning toward a Halloween-inspired wedding, with Slaton revealing they’ve “always wanted to get married on Halloween.” While they’re still ironing out the details like the party venue, dress, flowers, and “pretty much everything,” the celebration is definitely in the works.
Although their engagement will be brief, Slaton is confident about their future together, saying she’s sure their marriage will last.
I’ll be able to call him my husband and get to spend the rest of my life with him. Our engagement life may be short, but our marriage will last an eternity!
This is going to be Slaton’s second marriage. The “1000-Lb. Sisters” star was first married to Michael Halterman. They tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed two sons, Gage Deon and Glenn Allen. They divorced in 2023.
