Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Dating Timeline Becomes a Hot Topic

One of Travis Kelce’s neighbors has tongues wagging about just exactly when Taylor Swift and Kelce started dating.

During a recent appearance on the “Social Game Podcast,” “Traitors” contestant Wes Bergmann told hosts that he knew his neighbor Kelce was dating the pop star “months” before the couple first went public with their romance. But he says no one believed him.

“I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff. I tried to tell [host Michele Fitzgerald] a long time ago. I was like, ‘They’re together, just so you know’ … but she didn’t believe me. She didn’t believe it. She was like, ‘She only goes for artists,’” he went on. “I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.”

Bergmann has walked back some of what he said after his comments got media attention. On X, Bergmann posted, “Omg y’all I’m so sorry and confused. Everything being reported on is none of my business. My contribution to this was taken out of context and said in what I thought was relative obscurity, but it obviously wasn’t.”

While Bergmann has since regretted his statements on the podcast, singer Taylor Swift makes no bones about the fact that the couple were dating for a while behind the scenes before their first public outing.

In an interview with “TIME” for her “Person of the Year” cover in 2023, Swift said, “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Travis Kelce has announced that he will keep playing in the NFL, putting rumors of retirement to rest. On his latest “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason, Kelce addressed his announcement. His brother asked him, “Why are you playing another season? Why are you going to go out there, risk injury and make less money than you could make not playing football? Why are you doing this?” “I love playing,” answered Travis. “I still feel like I could play it at a high level, and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don’t think it was my best outing.”

Kelce went on to say that he didn’t like the way he ended last season, no doubt referring at least in part to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss. Kelce explained, “I got a bad taste in my mouth about how I ended the year.. I don’t want to leave that life yet.”
