A High Point, North Carolina, dad is speaking out with pride because his daughter, Tatum Scott, is one of the “300 or so” people flown to Los Angeles for blind auditions on “The Voice.’
The High Point Enterprise, a news site in the family’s hometown, spoke to Scott’s dad, Scott Davis, who shared the background of her journey to the show.
Season 27 premieres Monday, February 3, 2025, at 8/7c on NBC, according to NBC.
It’s not clear how far Scott gets on the show, but she is already developing a burgeoning career in Nashville, according to High Point Enterprise’s Jimmy Tomlin.
“Something like 20,000 to 30,000 people try to get on that show, and they only select about 300 or so that they fly out to” to Los Angeles,” Scott Davis told the news site. “And then only a select few of those get an audition in front of the judges, so we’re excited that she’s gotten this far.” It’s also not clear which judge will be her coach during this show’s season.

Tatum Scott’s Dad Says Officials With the Show Invited Her to Los Angeles
Scott auditioned for both “The Voice” and “American Idol” in the past, but she didn’t make it very far, her dad told the news site. Her dad revealed she had “no intentions of doing it again,” but officials reached out and asked her to audition in Los Angeles.
She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is trying to break into music, her dad told High Point Enterprise.
“After high school, she went to Liberty University for a short time, but it was obvious her heart was in Nashville,” Davis told the site.
“What a great way to end 2024!!!💃🏼 can’t wait for you guys to see what’s coming in 2025🤭 feeling so grateful!!!!” Scott wrote on her Instagram page in December.
Tatum Scott’s Dad Said She’s’ Been Working With ‘High-Level Writers’
Scott is already getting some attention for her music career, even before “The Voice,” said her dad.
“She’s done well there. You know, there’s so much talent in Nashville — singers from all over the U.S. and the world come there chasing their dreams — but she’s been playing at significant venues and writing with some high-level writers from the major labels. She’s getting a lot of opportunities,” he told High Point Enterprise.
He told the news site that she sag a that Country Music Hall of Fame, performed at The Listening Room and Whiskey Jam, and has a song called “Lady Bug” with “more than 200,000 streams” on Spotify. The news site described her as a “pop-country singer and songwriter.”
