Fan Favorite Judge Is Returning to ‘The Voice’

NBC has dropped news that has fans just waiting for those big red chairs to make their spin next season on “The Voice.”

Fan favorite judge Snoop Dogg is returning to his chair for Season 28!

In a press release, NBC writes, “hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg is making a triumphant return to The Voice as a Coach for Season 28, bringing his signature charm, humor, and musical expertise back to the red chair.”

The hip hop artist was a judge on season 26, but sat out season 27, much to the disappointment of fans. But he didn’t leave them without hope, telling host Carson Daly at the end of season 26, “It’s been a great experience for me. I didn’t know what I was signing on to, but I do know it feels like I could come back and do it again.”

NBC Sings Snoop’s Praises as a Judge

The Peacock Network has high praise for Snoop Dogg’s tenure as a judge, expressing excitement about the rapper’s, “nonstop humor and gift for connecting with Artists over their shared love for music. We can’t wait to see what advice he serves up this time.”

As for who will be sitting beside him in the other red chairs, that remains to be seen. “The Voice” is still in the middle of season 27 with coaches Adam Levine, Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend and Michael Bublé.

But Snoop Dogg has spoken in the past about how much he enjoys coaching young talent.

In a 2024 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” he told Fallon, “Well, if you know anything about me, you know I love all forms of music. So this is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and to be a real Coach. And to really give direction to some of these Artists that could be, you know, today’s next big thing.”

Snoop’s Return to ‘The Voice’ Part of Bigger Deal with NBC

Snoop’s return to the “The Voice” is just part of a larger deal with NBC.

According to “tvinsider,” the rapper’s Death Row Pictures production company signed a new multi-year deal with the network.

“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna [Langley] and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home,” Snoop said in a statement. “The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”
