Snoop Dogg Making a Difference With Community Support Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

Snoop Dogg stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on January 13 and discussed the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. During the interview, “The Voice” coach praised the firefighters and shared how he’s helping the community during this difficult time.

Snoop Dogg Gives Back to the Community Amid LA Wildfires

During his appearance on the talk show, Snoop gave an update about how his family is doing amid this tragedy. “The family’s doing good, just a couple of intermediate people that I do know that I consider family that lost everything,” he said. “So, we did what we do — we come, and we support, and we pull our troops together, and we make sure that we represent and we give them everything that they need.”

Snoop noted, “California, this is like our first time dealing with [wildfires], and the way that California is coming together, the way that the world is helping us — that’s the important thing. People are coming together and they’re not looking at differences. They’re just looking at trying to make a difference.”

The rapper also discussed the importance of getting donations to the people that need them and how he’s supporting that effort.

“A lot of times when we put these donations together, certain people don’t get it,” he said. “What my team does is we go on the ground and we make sure that we make a direct connect with those people, to make sure that we’re not missing anybody. That’s what we do — it’s about love, man.”

Snoop also recognized the firefighters for going above and beyond. “They have the toughest job and they don’t never get no credit, and they always show up and they do what’s best,” Snoop noted. “And when the job is over with, it’s like they’re forgotten about. But we need to give them a lot of praise right now — I give them a lot.”

In a “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Instagram post featuring the Snoop interview, fans flooded the comments with praise for “The Voice” coach. “I couldn’t love Snoop more!! 🥰 May God continue to bless him! 🙏🏻” one fan noted.

Others commented, “Snoop. Love this man, he’s got a good heart,” “Love Snoop Dogg, he is community personified,” and “Snoop Dog you are an awesome human being! God Bless you ❤️.”

Jimmy Kimmel Gave a Heartfelt Monologue

Kimmel opened the show with an emotional monologue, addressing the ongoing devastation.

“It’s been a very scary, very stressful, very strange week here in LA, where we work, where we live, where our kids go to school,” Kimmel said. “We are back at our studio, which we had to evacuate.”

He showed footage of the wildfire near the studio where they tape the show. “That’s how close this fire was to our theater here,” Kimmel explained. “Many of us had to leave our homes in a hurry. Some of our coworkers lost their homes. It’s been terrible.”

The late night talk show host pointed out how the community has come together amid the devastation. “I think I speak for all of us when I say it has been a sickening, shocking, awful experience. But it has also been, in a lot of ways, a beautiful experience because once again we see our fellow men and women coming together to support each other,” he noted. “People who lost their own homes were out volunteering in parking lots, helping others who lost theirs.”
