Fans Rally Around Snoop Dogg as He Mourns His Beloved Pup

When Snoop Dogg accepted the Ultimate Icon Award at the BET Awards on June 9, 2025, the legendary rapper thanked his family “for riding with me through the highs and the lows — more highs than lows.” But days later, they — and “The Voice” coach’s fans — are helping him through a new low.

On June 12, Snoop revealed on Instagram that he was mourning the loss of his beloved French bulldog, Juelz, who was a gift from fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa, according to TMZ.

Snoop posted a video of himself driving with Juelz in the passenger seat of his car, and wrote, “Rip @juelzbroadus 😢 thank wiz for giving him to me 🌹 🕊️.”

Snoop Dogg’s Pup Juelz Had His Own Instagram Profile

Khalifa gave Juelz to Snoop as a birthday gift in 2014, TMZ reported, as a companion to the rapper’s other French bulldog, Frank. Snoop started an Instagram account for Juelz in May 2015 and, until 2021, regularly posted pics of the pup wearing pint-sized outfits, meeting celebrities, and chilling at home.

Later in the day on June 12, Snoop posted a second video in memory of Juelz, featuring a montage of photos set to Khalifa’s song “See You Again.” He captioned the post, “Miss my dogg @juelzbroadus”

Fans have flooded Snoops posts with condolences, including one who wrote, “Daaaaamn, i know of him since he was a baby 😩 rest in peace big boy 💔ALL DOGGS GOES TO HEAVEN 🕊️”

Another fan commented, “RIP Juelz 🕊️🙏Our fur babies become a part of our family we love them with all of our hearts, and they give us that love back.”

“10 years for a frenchie is amazing,” someone else wrote. “I bet he had the dopest life. 🙌🏼”

French bulldogs, also known as Frenchies, are among the most popular dog breeds in the U.S, with a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years, according to the American Kennel Club.

Snoop Dogg Has Proven His Love for Animals Over the Years

Snoop Dogg’s stage name is perfect for someone who’s such a huge fan of dogs, but the rapper is actually a lover of all kinds of critters. In 2023, he confirmed to YouTuber Nardwuar that he even befriended a roach when he was young.

Snoop told him, “In my apartment I had a roach that we couldn’t kill. We tried to kill the (expletive) when we first moved in and he wouldn’t die, so we called him ‘The Gooch.’ He just kept getting bigger and bigger. I stayed in that apartment for like about six, seven months — Cuz grew to the size of about a whole dollar bill. We used to leave food out for him and everything.”

In 2017, Snoop teamed up with comedian Jimmy Kimmel for a popular series of “Plizzanet Earth” mockumentaries, narrating segments about various animals, including one about reptiles seen above. Snoop and Martha Stewart have hosted the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet since 2021 and, unsurprisingly, the rapper also sells his own line of Snoop Doggie Dogg accessories for pups of all sizes and breeds.
