Less than two weeks into Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, a second show has been scrubbed.
On February 21, Páramo Presenta, the company organizing Shakira’s tour for the shows in Colombia, posted a statement on X indicating that the February 24 concert at Atanasio Girardot Stadium in Medellín had been canceled. A Forbes Colombia report said this time it’s due to safety concerns, as the roof of the stage was damaged during the installation process, putting the health of the former “Voice” coach, her crew and the fans at risk.
Páramo Presenta acknowledged the public’s disappointment, stressing that they were working with Shakira’s team to hopefully reschedule the show.
Shakira Canceled Her February 16 Show in Lima After Being Hospitalized With Abdominal Issues
It was the second show on Shakira’s tour to be called off. Shakira was forced to postpone the concert scheduled for February 16 in Lima, Peru, after she was hospitalized the previous night for abdominal issues.
Shakira posted a statement to X on February 16 to voice her apologies for missing that show and said “my team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you.” Shakira – whose tour had begun February 11 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the first of 30-plus shows that she was scheduled to headline throughout Peru, Colombia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the United States and Canada – was released in time for the second show scheduled in Lima on February 17, a night that she declared on Instagram “will stay with me forever.”
Shakira also successfully performed for the February 20 and 21 concerts at Estadio Metropolitano in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, which she said on Instagram “was more than a concert, it was a communion.”
“Singing together with those who saw me grow up and those who grew up with me. Watching 4,000 children from our schools dance and celebrate, my children, my mother, my town, my family. They are my people and I love them. Thank you for being one with me!” the post read.
Shakira’s Fans Reacted to Postponement of February 24 Show in Medellín

On February 22, Shakira posted a statement to X to apologize that she would not be able to perform in Medellín and share “all the surprises I had prepared for you.” Shakira noted in particular the inconvenience placed on those who had traveled for the show, stating that she hoped to see everyone in the near future.
“It is out of my hands and those of my production team,” a translation of her statement read, “but I am sure that we will soon find a new date to celebrate together.”
That did little to appease the people who had already made plans to be in Medellín for the originally scheduled date, including one who’s translated comment said, “There were already rumors that the concert in Medellín was cancelled before there was any damage to the set-up, all very strange, the cancellations in Peru and Medellín will not be the only ones… SHAKIRA is having a hard time completing such a tight tour and the excuses are very silly…”
