The top eight singers of “The Voice” season 27 are set to perform on May 12 at 8 p.m. EST, along with four eliminated contestants chosen to return for another chance by their coaches.
Last week, Adam David and Jaydn Cree from Michael Bublé’s team made it through, while John Legend chose Renzo and Bryson Battle to move on.
The previous week, Iris Herrera and Alanna Lynise from team Kelsea Ballerini made it to the Semi-Finals, along with Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Britton Moore from Adam Levine’s team.
At the end of May 5th’s episode, host Carson Daly announced the Super Save. “Coaches, lend me your ears. I come with great news, great joy,” he said.
“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on this show for the longest amount of time. We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one artist. The Super Saves is on,” Daly told the coaches.
‘The Voice’ Live Semi-Finals Performances & Coaches’ Reactions

Right as the live Semi-Finals began, the coaches’ Super Save was revealed. Legend chose Olivia Kuper Harris, while Bublé saved Kaiya Hamilton.
Ballerini saved Jaelen Johnston, and Levine saved Conor James, rounding out the top 12 of ‘The Voice’ season 27.
During the Semi-Finals, the top 12 will be whittled down to five remaining artists after fans vote for their favorite artist. Here are their performances of tonight.
Kolby Cordell
Kolby Cordell from Team Adam chose “Drink You Away” by Justin Timberlake. “Kolby has a richness to his voice and this performance style is so perfect for ‘The Voice.’ I think he’s one of the most entertaining people on the show,” Levine told the camera.
Cordell’s soulful rendition of the song included a horn section and a group of backup singers, but he dominated with his vocals.
His first performance of the Semi-Finals earned him a standing ovation from all four coaches. “What just happened in this room doesn’t happen very often,” Levine told him. “You should be beyond proud of yourself, bro. This is it for you, man.”
Alanna Lynise
Alanna Lynise from Team Kelsea was up next with “I’m Not That Girl” from the musical “Wicked.” As she sang with a magical floral backdrop wearing a pink jacket and skirt, Ballerini smiled proudly at Lynise’s breathy take on the song.
“You were so beautiful and still and powerful,” Bublé told her after the performance. Ballerini said, “You’re never scared to share your heart on this stage and you’ve showed so many differnt versions of it and I think that this set matched the magic that you have in yourself that you show every time.”
Jaydn Cree
Bublé’s protégé Jaydn Cree chose Tommy James & The Shondell’s song, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” popularized by Tiffany.
Cree’s song was punctuated with a neon screen behind her and was met with a roaring scream from the audience.
“Great job, buddy!” Daly told her when she was done. “It’s fun every single time when you come on the stage,” was Legend’s rave review.
“I love you, you know. You’re just always unique, and your voice is so pure and different. And that’s what makes a star,” Bublé said.
Olivia Kuper Harris
Olivia Kuper Harris was Legend’s Super Save and was excited to return to ‘The Voice’ 27 with Ella Fitzgerald’s “Someone to Watch Over Me.”
Harris got into character with a long strapless gown, opera-length gloves, and Hollywood curls. “You should feel amazing about that,” Levin said post-performance.
Legend said, “I feel like we just got to watch a master class in really finding your way in a song and interpreting it so beautifully.”
Iris Herrera
Iris Herrera chose “Messy” by Lola Young, whom her coach Ballerini described has having “grit.” She said, “Especially being a female artist in music, you have to have some version of grit.”
“I’m so proud of your commitment to your artistry. Your full package, full circle artistry. It’s so important to you and it just showed,” Ballerini told Herrera.
Lucia Flores-Wiseman
Team Levine’s singer Lucia Flores-Wiseman went with the ’90s grunge song “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden, which she connected with because of her Seattle background.
Wiseman started off a cappella for a few notes before the instruments kicked in. Her soulful version soon turned into a rock ballad as she hit the high notes, which Daly called a “tribute” to the late Chris Cornell.
Levine told her, “There are people out there that try to be different, and there are people out there who just simply are different, and celebrating that with you has been such an honor and a pleasure.”
Bryson Battle
Bryson Battle took on the challenge of Harry Nilsson’s “Without You,” which coach Legend recommended singing a key higher for more drama.
Battle took on the challenge effortlessly and brought all four coaches to their feet. “I said we needed a little crackle and some firework but you went beyond the little crackle that we needed and we have literal fireworks behind you as you were doing it,” Legend told him. “It was amazing.”
Jaelen Johnston
Jaelen Johnston was another Super Save from Ballerini, who picked “I Drive Your Truck” by Lee Brice as his live Semi-Finals song.
He revealed that the song resonated with him after losing his young cousin to an automobile accident. “It encompasses everything country’s about. Telling a story, showing that vulnerable side of you. Everybody’s had a loss at some point in their life and I think everybody can relate to it in some way.”
Adam David
Adam David from Team Bublé chose the oldie “Bring It On Home To Me” by Sam Cooke. “I want to give Michael his first back-to-back win,” David said ahead of his performance.
During the live performances, David crooned his soulful rendition while playing the guitar. “Holy smokes, dude,” Levine told him after his set. “That was unbelievable. Every second of it.”
“That meant more to me than any performance has met,” Bublé said. “I’m so happy for you, Adam.”
Kaiya Hamilton
Kaiya Hamilton was Bublé’s Super Save, and he told her, “I couldn’t wait to run back and get you. There’s no one like you here. We’re going to go far.”
Hamilton’s choice was “Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan, which Bublé advised her to make her own. “You already know, you’re flawless,” he said after her jaw-dropping performance. “They should be voting for you.”
Conor James
Conor James from Levine’s team chose “Chasing Pavements” by Adele and was given the advice, “Less is more” by his coach.
“I hope America sees just the raw joy that music gives me and my commitment to making music my life,” James told the camera.
After his raw performance, Levine said, “I love the fact that we kept it pure and simple here because that was a nice thing for you to do at this point.”
“I brought you back to this thing, which is where you belong and you absolutely delivered tonight man, and I’m super proud of you,” Levine told James.
Renzo
Renzo closed up the live semi-finals with “Dream On” by Aerosmith. “Renzo is our rock star, baby,” Legend said.
“The challenge is making sure I pay homage to these legends but also making sure that I add a modern twist to it,” Renzo told the cameras before his performance.
Renzo knocked it out with his homage to “Dream On” and Legend told him, “It was so incredible. You just looked like you were supposed to be here on this stage … You looked like a super star up there and you sounded like one. It was perfect.”
