Gomez took to her Instagram Stories on January 22 with a quick video that showed the actress wearing headphones while seated at a desk.
Music played as she turned the camera around to reveal a computer screen (with a large red heart covering what she was working on). She showed a computer speaker then returned the camera to her face. Gomez gave an excited smile as she closed her eyes.
What is she up to? Can fans expect a new song from Gomez soon?
While she’s yet to announce anything official, this small tease is enough to get fans fired up about the prospect of new music from the singer.
Fans Share Their Excitement Over Potential New Selena Gomez Song
Gomez’s fiance, Benny Blanco, posted the same video to his TikTok account. He didn’t give any further details, but fans had plenty of theories.
“You guys are cooking something for us eh!?🥰” one fan wrote, while another noted, “I LOVE YOU FOR BRINGING THE QUEEN BACK😭❤️”
Others tried to make sense of it, asking “What does this mean mother?” and “Wait. What does this mean? Are they recording together or … because I can’t make out the voice singing.”
Another fan asked, “Is it a song leak?”
One person commented, “I just KNEW you couldn’t let our girl give up the music ♥️” and another noted, “I promise to know the lyrics in 30min😂💃.”

Blanco previously sparked Gomez new music rumors when he posted a TikTok video on January 17. In response to a fan who wrote, “Benny please make some new songs for our queen,” he opened a door where Gomez was sitting in front of a microphone and said “Hi.” She responded, “Hi.”
In a November 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez shared, “I think I’ve done just as much as I wanted to do in music, but it’s exciting because I feel like I haven’t even started in film and TV, even though I know I’ve been a part of some great projects and I’m really proud of them.”
She continued, “I like that I have to earn my position, and I love storytelling. So, I’m excited to do more of that.”
As for music, she clarified that she’s “almost done” with it. “Music isn’t going away. I just set it down for a second.”
