Fans in a Frenzy Over Niall Horan’s Cryptic Update

Pop superstar and “The Voice” coach Niall Horan sent fans into a frenzy on June 6, 2025, posting a photo dump of 12 candid pics that provided a glimpse into his life lately. Other than cutely captioning the post “dumpy mcdumperson,” Horan didn’t provide any more details about the people and places in his pics. But that didn’t keep fans from speculating what it all meant.

Within just 10 hours, over 1.1 million fans had already liked the post on Instagram, and more than 23,000 had left comments about what they noticed in Horan’s photo dump, including signs he’s recording new music and a pic with singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, leading many to hope they might be collaborating.

Noah Kahan Hops Into Niall Horan’s Comment Section, Thrilling Fans

Horan didn’t provide any context for the photos he chose to share, but the first one was a selfie, taken as he sat on the floor with two plaques propped up on a couch behind him. The framed pieces commemorate that two of his hit songs — 2016’s “This Town” and 2017’s “Slow Hands” — have both been streamed one billion times on Spotify, a milestone his record company Universal celebrated in January.

The former “One Direction” star posted multiple photos of him eating at various restaurants with friends, but the pics that really whipped his fans into a frenzy were those that hinted he’s actively recording new music. There was one image with songwriter Julian Bunetta, known for writing some of One Direction’s hit songs, as well as a GIF of Horan at the mic in a recording studio.

His followers were also quick to notice the image of Horan playing guitar and smiling while sitting next to Kahan, whom he tagged. Fans flooded the post with comments about a potential collaboration.

One comment, liked by over 4,100 fans, said in all caps, “NOAH AND NIALL COLAB?!”

Someone else wrote, “Niall and Noah? Oww omg” while another inquired, “Niall and Noah? Is there a collab coming?”

Kahan, who skyrocketed to fame with his 2022 album “Stick Season,” added fuel to the fire by jumping into the comment section and writing, “Three hundred Negronis”

“Song lyrics entering the chat? 😆” one person responded, and another quipped, “new album title.”

Noah Kahan Said in 2024 He Wanted to Write a Song With Niall Horan

Kahan has appeared before in Horan’s social media feed since they hang out together, and he’s featured Horan in his. But the newest pic of them jamming together was sandwiched in between two shots of the recording studio, prompting many to think a collaboration is underway.

Kahan has been vocal about wanting to collaborate with Horan on new music. In January 2024, the “Dial Drunk” singer shared a tweet that pointed out the two were suddenly following each other on Instagram and he wrote, “Niall horan let’s golf or make some music I assume the fans would prefer the second thing but just lmk”

Then, in August, Kahan told FM104 in Dublin, “I would love to collaborate with my dear Niall, who I love, who’s a friend of mine now, and just feel like we should make something together.”

“We talk about songwriting here and there,” Kahan continued, “and I feel like we have very similar perspectives on it, and I think it’d be a really cool time writing a song with him.”

Meanwhile, Horan exclusively told NBC’s “GolfPass” in March 2025 that he’d begun working on writing a new album. On his latest social media post, multiple fans predicted that a new album might be released at the same time Horan returns to “The Voice” as a coach on season 28, which is due to start airing in mid-September.
