Miley Cyrus is reflecting on her career and says she really has no regrets … well, maybe just one! The former “The Voice” coach has been under the microscope for years, and though the public may have pointed out her missteps, Cyrus says she wouldn’t change a thing.
Miley Cyrus Talks About Her Past ‘Mistakes’ and Has 1 Regret
In a January 27 Instagram video, Cyrus talked with Pamela Anderson about “The Last Showgirl.” Anderson stars in the film and Cyrus sings “Beautiful That Way” on the movie’s soundtrack.
The two shared stories about their careers and embracing their pasts. Cyrus has no regrets, except for some fashion choices.
“Funny enough, in my life, when I look back, all the mistakes, anything that I was unsure of or I didn’t understand … I am so proud of every moment and every stage of my life,” Cyrus shared.
She continued, “I would not go back and change anything … except a couple things I was wearing.'”
Cyrus noted her critics had plenty of opinions, but that didn’t bother her. “The thing that upset everyone else wasn’t the thing that upset me,” she shared. “And you know what, that’s what life is.”
Miley Cyrus Said Pamela Anderson Inspired Her From a Young Age
Cyrus also shared the impact that Anderson had on her over the years.
“Ever since I was little, it was only Pam. When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would say you,” the singer revealed. “And the whole thing: the tattoos, the hair … all of it. That’s all I wanted to do.”
“I’ve had so many pivots and different evolutions and — one might say — detours within my path. But it always ends up coming back around to make the next stage of who we are,” Cyrus added. “Something that’s more potent, something that’s more real.”
Anderson noted, “Sometimes you need to go do a little research and come back to your path. And you bring it all with you.”
She also revealed how some simple advice changed her perspective. When Anderson told a director she wanted to “let everything go” from her past, she was advised to do the opposite. “I don’t want to think about it anymore, and [the director] goes, ‘No, bring it with you, baby,'” the actor recalled.
Anderson added, “That is exactly what I need to do. I need to bring it with me. I’m not ashamed of my life. I’m not. I don’t need to let anything go.”
