You’ll never catch Michael Bublé missing an opportunity to express how proud he is of his wife. The Canadian singer, songwriter and coach on “The Voice” has been married to Luisana Lopilato, an Argentine actress, model and singer, since 2011. Although he frequently mentions and features her on his Instagram, his latest post about her stands out for being funny and incredibly cute.
On June 13, Bublé shared a video in which he’s inside a grocery store. According to the couple’s Instagrams, their family has been in Argentina, Lopilato’s homeland, for at least a few days, so he was likely inside a grocery store there.
Lopilato doesn’t appear to be in the store with him, but Bublé manages to “find” her anyway.
“I mean, how many dudes make a music video about meeting their hot wife at a grocery store,” he began nonchalantly. “And then just happen to be walking at a grocery store, past the section of hair products… and find their hot wife on a L’Oréal package?!”
Bublé then quickly shows the camera the box of hair dye featuring his gorgeous wife on the packaging and proceeds to enthusiastically kiss the box of dye. Afterward, he looks around to make sure no one was watching him. “I don’t think anyone found that weird,” he said, before giving the box of dye a few more smooches.
The music video Bublé is referring to, of course, is his very own: the 2009 music video for “Haven’t Met You Yet,” a song he dedicated to Lopilato, who was his girlfriend at the time and love interest in the video. In it, he is in a grocery store singing about his optimism regarding his love life despite numerous experiences of heartbreak.
Bublé gave the post a very fitting caption, in English and in Spanish, that was dedicated to his wife: “Because you’re worth it @luisanalopilato. Porque vos lo vales.”
Lopilato stars in the new film “Mensaje en una Botella,” a comedy which started streaming on Amazon Prime on June 13. In the same post and another he shared later that day, Bublé made sure to spread the word about his wife’s latest project. “My wife’s movie is officially streaming on Amazon Prime! I’m biased but it’s brilliant! Subtitles optional, tears guaranteed. So proud of you @luisanalopilato,” he wrote.
Bublé and Lopilato’s Love Story
Bublé and Lopilato were introduced to each other in 2008, at an afterparty following Bublé’s performance in Buenos Aires. A friend of the couple told People that the head of the label that threw the party wanted Bublé to meet Argentina’s most famous actress. According to the friend, Bublé described meeting Lopilato as “love at first sight.”
As mentioned previously, by 2009, Bublé and Lopilato were already dating and she starred in his music video, “Haven’t Met You Yet.” By November 2009, the couple was engaged: Bublé popped the question in Argentina in front of Lopilato’s family.
Bublé and Lopilato married in 2011 and had weddings in both of their countries, Canada and Argentina, respectively.
The couple have four kids together: son Noah, born in 2013, son Elias, born in 2016, daughter Vida Amber Betty, born in 2018 and daughter Cielo Yoli Rose, born in 2022. In November 2016, they revealed that their eldest son Noah was diagnosed with cancer. By March 2017, Noah was released from the hospital, according to People.
Throughout their relationship, Bublé and Lopilato have publicly supported each other. In a September 2020 Instagram post for Bublé’s birthday, Lopilato called her husband “the most amazing man and father” and the “perfect lover.”
In March 2021, Bublé dedicated an Instagram post to his wife, in celebration of their 10th wedding anniversary. “The good things in life have been better with you, and you’ve helped lift me through some of the hardest times imaginable… You’re my way better half, my hero and the light of my life.”
Getting to Know Luisana Lopilato
Lopilato has built an impressive career in Argentina with modeling campaigns, TV shows, movies, theatrical productions and even albums under her belt.
Highlights of her TV work include her appearance in “Chiquititas” in 1997 when she was just 10, which began her acting career. Her role in teen show “Rebelde Way,” which ran from 2002 to 2003, led to international recognition and the formation of pop-rock band “Erreway” with her co-stars. The band released three albums and a film. In 2005, she portrayed Christina Applegate’s character in “Casados con Hijos,” the Argentine remake of the American show “Married With Children.”
Additionally, she’s starred in several films and theatrical productions. Her movie performances earned her numerous award nominations, including Argentina’s prestigious 2015 Premios Cóndor de Plata (equivalent to the Academy Awards) for Best New Actress for her role in the comedy “Las Insoladas.” Her films done outside her native country include Spanish thriller “Predeterminados” and “Fair Market Value,” her first Hollywood movie.
Lopilato is currently an ambassador of L’Oréal Paris and has a huge social media presence with 7 million Instagram followers.
On her website, she writes that beyond her career, her greatest pride is her family and her faith.
