MGK Gushes Over Fatherhood, Shares How He Feels About Life With Newborn

While we still don’t know the name of Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) and Megan Fox’s little girl, we do know that the musician is loving being a new dad again. On the red carpet for the “2025 American Music Awards,” he made it clear that, while he was supposed to present an award, being there when his child needed him was more important.

“The Voice” Season 26 advisor made the interview rounds on the red carpet for the AMAs, talking about his new song “Cliche” and that, yes, he dances in the video. However, as the topic shifted to his infant daughter, who was born in March, he finally revealed the reason he wouldn’t be presenting that night, after all.

“The baby’s great. She has a little bit of a fever, so I’m gonna just walk the red carpet and go back, you know what I mean?” he told E! News. “Handle my business, give her my pheremones, and let her heal up.”

“I was born to be a dad,” he continued. “It’s my purpose.”

He shared similar info with ET, but added that going to the “AMAs” while his daughter was at home was giving him “separation anxiety.” Nonetheless, he wanted to let his fans know that he “appreciates them” before going home to his little one.

MGK is also a father to his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, with his ex Emma Cannon. He is very close to her, and she has accompanied him on many red carpets, including the 2021 AMAs.

When Casie was 12, she also contributed to his album “Mainstream Sellout” and even went on tour with him. He explained to Kelly Clarkson in 2021 how important his daughter’s musical feedback is to him. “I trust her opinion more than I trust my own now,” he said. “Like, she has her finger on the pulse of what’s hot, or if I’m doing a song and it’s the right one, she’ll confirm it.”

He also confirmed to Access Hollywood that Casie has quickly adapted to her new sibling. “She’s a great big sister,” he said. “She’s able to calm her down.”

Now that he gets to experience fatherhood all over again, he’s reveling in every moment. “I’m just so elated, it’s just awesome,” he said, referring to life with a newborn again. “They smell so good, you know? I was just meant to be a dad.”
