Kelsea Ballerini is leaving her 20s behind and fully embracing her 30s. The former “The Voice” coach shares what she has planned for this next chapter of life, noting she’s “so open” to just about anything thrown her way.
Kelsea Ballerini Reflects on Her 20s
Ballerini is in the early years of her 30s, but she doesn’t seem bummed to leave her younger years behind.
In a July 2025 interview with Us Weekly, the country star dished on how she really feels about moving on from her 20s. “I love my thirties so much,” she said.
Ballerini joked, “Could not pay me to go back to my twenties — literally kill me.”
The singer continued, explaining how maturity informs her songwriting. “Just growing up into that womanhood, there’s a lot of beautiful things that come with that,” she said. “But then also moments that you’re like, ‘Oh, okay, I haven’t had to think about this before. What about this and how does this feel?'”
She added, “So I think I’m just kind of writing. I’ve always written about my life, so I think I’m just writing about that phase of it.”
Ballerini said she’s open-minded in this new chapter of life, calling it her “yes era.”
“I am so open. I’ve never been this open in my life, truly to anything, to whatever the new record is going to sound like or who I make it with or whatever,” the singer shared. “If there’s another creative outlet or role or anything that comes my way, yes to anything — to a random trip, like, yes, I’m just open.”
Ballerini added, “I just want to exist in that openness. I’m in my yes era.”

Ballerini is also more focused on overall health in her 30s than when she was younger.
In a July 2025 interview with People, she explained, “I really care about taking care of myself more than I ever have. I don’t know if that’s being in my 30s or what it is, but I think in all the ways I want to be a healthy person.”
The former “Voice” coach continued, “That goes from doing therapy for my brain and my heart to doing masks and hair oils for my hair to red light for my face. To Pilates for my body-ody. I really do try to do it all and prioritize that in my life now.”
She added, “Instead of playing catch up, it’s just being consistent with healthy habits.”
