Kelsea Ballerini has been battling the flu on her tour but was determined to perform. Unfortunately, “The Voice” coach had to cut her Buffalo, New York concert short and was forced to reschedule some upcoming shows. She apologized to her fans on social media and promised to “pull out every stop” for the rescheduled concerts.
Kelsea Ballerini Apologizes: ‘I Couldn’t Do It’
On February 6, Ballerini performed at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, but only got through a handful of songs before she was forced to end the show early.
In a fan video posted on TikTok, a member of Ballerini’s team told the audience that the show would need to be rescheduled. “This is the conversation I did not want to have tonight,” they explained. “She just can’t finish, she is too sick. And we’ve given everything … we’ve tried to do it and we unfortunately cannot finish the show tonight.”
Ballerini took to social media to explain what happened and why she needed to reschedule upcoming concerts.
“Buffalo, I am so, so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight. I am sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight, and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it,” Ballerini explained in a video on her Instagram Stories and TikTok.
She continued, “And I am so sorry, but I never want to give you a half-ass show. We are rescheduling tonight, Buffalo, tomorrow, Pittsburgh, and the next day, Toronto, to the end of the tour … And I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life, and I will pull out every stop for you, and I will make it so worth it.”
The country star added, “I’m going to go rest now, and get better, so I can really show up for the rest of this tour, and I hope you understand, and thank you for the grace to be human.”
Ballerini’s Buffalo concert has been rescheduled for April 11. Her Pittsburgh show will now be on April 12 and Toronto’s rescheduled date is set for April 13.
Ballerini’s Fans Supported Her Painful Decision
Ballerini’s fans were completely understanding, leaving comments of support on her X post.
“We love you so much!!” one fan wrote. “So glad you are prioritizing your health! Me and my besties already had the best night so now we just get to look forward to doing it again!”
Another fan wrote, “Oh you sweet angel, you have nothing to apologize for. You get better soon and we’ll see you back performing in no time.”
Others left messages telling her to “feel better soon” and get some much-needed rest to recover.
