Kelly Clarkson Returns to ‘The Voice’ as Season 29 Coach
On July 22, Clarkson took to Instagram to share the big news about her return to “The Voice.“
“I’m so excited to be back coaching on ‘The Voice,'” she wrote in the caption that accompanied an image of her with John Legend and Adam Levine.
“The Voice” season 29 premieres in spring 2026 with Team Adam, Team Legend, and Team Kelly.
NBC is calling it “The Voice: Battle of Champions,” with the coaching panel comprised of “The Voice” winners.
According to NBC Insider, “The Voice” rounds will include: Blinds, Battles, Knockouts, Semi-Finals, and Finale. The coaches will have 10 artists per team at the end of Blind Auditions
NBC Insider teases, “Season 29 introduces a high-stakes, three-Coach face-off where strategy, risk, and legacy collide. Each of the competition’s four rounds will deliver a first-ever element, so there’s something to love for fans old and new.”
Blind Auditions include the “Triple Turn Competition,” with coaches attempting “to score the most 3-Chair Turns, with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round.”
The coach who wins the “Triple Turn Competition” gets a “Super Steal” for the Battles. NBC Insider notes, “This game-changing prize can only be used once and negates any other coach’s attempt to Steal, guaranteeing their win.”
In the Knockouts, “each coach will bring back two artists from their former teams for an In-Season All-Star Competition,” according to NBC Insider. “The selected All-Stars will represent their coaches in head-to-head sing-offs, and the coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed two artists from their Season 29 team in the Finale.”
Season 1 coach CeeLo Green will judge the In-Season-All-Star Competition.
Semi-Finals will have the top 9 perform, with the final 4 artists performing in the Finale.
