Kelly Clarkson is returning to “The Voice” with a bold new look — drastically shorter hair! In NBC’s teaser video for season 29, Clarkson has changed up her usual long locks with a short bob, and fans are loving it.
Kelly Clarkson Embraces a Short Bob Hair Style
On July 22, NBC announced season 29 of “The Voice,” called “Battle of Champions.” Along with a change in the typical “Voice” format, Clarkson showed off a stunning hair transformation.
In the teaser promo, the three coaches for season 29 each turn their red chair to reveal themselves.
Adam Levine is the first to turn his chair, saying, “You think you know ‘The Voice’? Think again.”
John Legend reveals himself next, teasing, “Three champion coaches are back, to turn the competition upside down.”
Finally, Clarkson turns her chair and says, “But this time, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeve. Y’all get ready.”
Clarkson ditched her long flowing hair and is now sporting a big change — the singer and talk show host chopped her hair off into a glam bob.
Fans loved seeing Clarkson’s new look, with one person commenting, “Kelly Clarkson looks so gooddd!!”
Another person noted, “I love that look on Kelly with her short hair.”
“You look amazing Kelly Clarkson!” one fan wrote.
Others shared how they’re thrilled about Clarkson’s return, with comments including, “Queen Kelly … I am in,” “So happy to see you back Kelly!” and “I can’t wait. Kelly is the best!”
‘The Voice’ Season 29 Makes Big Changes
Season 29 of “The Voice” is promising big changes from the typical format, beginning with three coaches this time.
The NBC press release explains that the season features “the only panel in the show’s history comprised entirely of ‘Voice’ winners.”
There are four rounds, “each featuring a distinct ‘Voice’ first,” according to the release.
The Blinds round has coaches competing in the “Triple Turn Competition,” with the winner “gaining a special advantage in the next round.”
In the Battles, the coach who has the most three-chair turns earns a “Super Steal,” but it can only be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal.
The Knockouts round has the coaches bringing back two fan-favorite artists each from their teams in previous seasons to compete in an “In-Season All-Star Competition.”
The Semi-Final will include the Top 9 artists, and the Top 4 contestants will compete in the Finale. According to the press release, “For the first time in show history, a new voting block comprised of super fans and past ‘Voice’ artists will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience voting for their favorites in real time during the semi-finals and finale.”
“The Voice” season 29 premieres in spring 2026.
