Gwen Stefani Gushes Over ‘Miracle’ Relationship With Blake Shelton

“The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani just released a new album and she’s opening up about what inspired her to create the songs she included.

On November 20, Stefani appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” and credited her husband Blake Shelton for inspiring her writing.

Stefani referred to Shelton and their relationship as a “miracle” that came into her life when she found herself starting over again.

Gwen Stefani Had to Discover Who She Is Now

Stefani revealed that as she approached creating “Bouquet,” she found that she “Kept trying to chase my old self and try to repeat or compete with myself.”

She explained, “It felt like going in and getting my old prom dress and putting it on and going, ‘I love it but it’s just not working anymore.’”

The singer realized she needed to discover who she was now, and she noted she started writing “Bouquet” when she and Shelton got engaged.

The album takes listeners for a ride along the new life Stefani built “after having to scrape myself off the ground and start over again.”

Stefani added, “It’s a miracle, it’s just such a miracle to now be 9 years” into her relationship with Shelton.

She Felt Prettiest When ‘Blake Started Loving Me’

Stefani noted she wrote about all the bad things she’d been experiencing. However, the album isn’t all about that.

Stefani also talked about looking back through photos of herself and trying to determine where she felt the “prettiest.”

She tried to find a picture that represented “When do I like myself the most” and realized, “It was right when Blake started loving me.”

“I wanted to write a song about that cuz when you actually feel love for the first time, they reflect you, you can see yourself in them and I wanted to write a song about that,” Stefani explained.

She added that “Bouquet” is “Like a diary of…little thoughts that I had through feeling love for the first time” with Shelton.

Fans shared their love for Stefani and what she shared on Instagram.

“Spot on with your version of where [you’re] at now…so amazing to hear true feelings on this album,” gushed a fan on Instagram

“I love Gwen so much. What a great message about not feeling like you have to always be who everyone expects you to be. We mature and have experiences that change is to who we are meant to be and it’s beautiful,” another fan shared.
