Gwen Stefani is a mother to three children, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, whom she shares with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. But it was Kingston who made her a mother 19 years ago (he was born on May 26, 2006), and on his birthday this year, the “Swallow My Tears” singer reflected on their time together with an emotional Instagram post.
Fans React to Gwen Stefani’s Emotional Post About Her Son
Stefani shared several photos of herself and her son, giving fans a glimpse of him throughout the years and showing just how much he has grown (and in the most recent picture, he looks just like his dad). In the caption, the proud mama shared her thoughts, writing, “Kingston, u changed my life forever. we love u so much. happy birthday.”
The comment section is filled with messages from fans who have wished Kingston a Happy Birthday, but also praised Stefani for being a great mom. Comments include, “Wow time flies! Love all the pics,” “Oh, he’s like a perfect mix between you and Gavin,” and “Great Mom and know Blake is loving every minute of being a father also to your beautiful boys.”
Another fan shared their well wishes and congratulated Stefani on her approach to motherhood. “Parenting in general is hard, but parenting in the spotlight has got to be another whole level of hard,” they wrote. “And still, all of us could take a lesson in being a mom from you! It’s so clear what an amazing job you’re doing with your boys.”
What Has Gwen Stefani Said About Parenting Kingston?
Kingston has grown up exposed to the music industry because both his parents and his stepdad, Blake Shelton, are musicians. It was likely only a matter of time before he followed in their footsteps, and he has! In August 2023, he performed for the first time at Ole Red, a bar owned by Shelton, located in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. At the time, he was 17.
“King has been writing a bunch of amazing songs. When it’s your kid, it’s like, you love everything, but this is next level to me. These are really good songs,” Stefani told People in September 2023. “So Blake said, ‘Hey, we got to go live now.’ It’s so different than writing a song — being able to sing live is a whole ‘nother thing.”
She also discussed his first public performance and how it moved her to tears. “I was bawling. It’s crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you’re like, ‘Wow.’ I’m so happy for him that he has that outlet,” Stefani said.
