Shelton Shared the Sweet Story Behind ‘Nobody But You’
“Nobody But You” debuted in 2019 and was an ode to Shelton and Stefani’s relationship, which began in 2015 after their respective divorces.
Shelton told Nashville Lifestyles after his album “Fully Loaded: God’s Country” released, “The lyrics of that song are so on point, not just for me and Gwen, but I think for a lot of people. The song is not a fairytale, but at the same time it’s the most epic, earth-rattling love song I’ve heard in a long time, because the lyrics are so honest and just say it how it is.”
He continued, “This song really cuts to the honesty of how these two feel about each other, and in a real-life situation. It’s as honest as you can be in a country song, and something that will make you stop your car.”
Shelton recalled hearing the song and wanting Stefani’s feedback. “When I heard it, I was just floored. I realized how important that song was for me and where I am in my life right now. I just think it’s magical. I literally think it’s important of a song as I’ve ever recorded,” he said in 2020, per Billboard.
Stefani and Shelton Surprised Fans at Ole Red Opening in 2024

Shelton celebrated the grand opening Ole Red Las Vegas by surprising fans with a duet of “Nobody But You” with “The Voice” coach, Stefani. “It ain’t Vegas until the Bossman arrives. Thanks for checkin’ in on us last night @blakeshelton @gwenstefani, hope y’all like the new place!” the bar posted on Instagram in February 2024.
“Music was like our two worlds colliding. Musically, we knew we could work together on ‘The Voice’ and now to be able to make music together and work together and go perform that stuff clearly has brought us closer together,” Shelton told ET.
