What Does ‘The Voice’ Winner Receive? Grand Prize Details for the Season 27 Champion

When “The Voice” host Carson Daly announces the season 27 finale voting results on May 20, 2025, one of the top five singers — Renzo, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Jaelen Johnston, Jadyn Cree, and Adam David — will be named the winner.

The contestants gave it their all during their finale performances on the May 19 live show. But what are they all vying to win besides bragging rights and lots of publicity?

The season 27 winner will receive a lucrative prize package, according to USA Today, which includes a record deal and a $100,000 cash prize. The $100,000 prize amount hasn’t changed since “The Voice” premiered in 2011, per Taste of Country.

Meanwhile, the record deal is with Universal Music Group (UMG), which includes labels like Republic Records, according to a 2021 report by the New York Post. But it can take a while for winning artists to establish their sound, write original music, and develop a plan with the label to release an album.

Country artist Bryce Leatherwood won “The Voice” in December 2022, but didn’t release his first album with UMG’s Mercury Nashville label until two-and-a-half years later, on May 16. He will appear on the second night of “The Voice” finale, on May 20, to perform a track from the new album.

“I’ve spent the past two years developing this album, choosing each song with intention, creating the best introduction to who I am as an artist,” he told Music Row. “I’m beyond proud of how it turned out and can’t wait to share it with y’all.”

Adam Levine Complained About Record Deal for ‘The Voice’ Winners 10 Years Ago

Leatherwood’s album debut has come with multiple national publicity appearances, including performing on “The Today Show.” That exposure is a far cry from the lack of activity and publicity that used to happen for winners, including some who never got to record an album, including season 10 winner Alison Porter, per the New York Post.

Adam Levine, who returned to “The Voice” for season 27 after several years away, was so frustrated with UMG and its slow process with contestants that he complained about the situation in 2015 to radio host Howard Stern, according to MJ’s Big Blog.

“When the baton is passed post-‘Voice,’ there’s some problems,” he told Stern. “(Label executives) take over after we do this great job of building these people up on the show. There’s some real issues there.”

The season 27 finale ends with a two-hour, live show on May 20 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
