Blake Shelton Has Embraced Being a Stepfather: Report

Country music star and former coach on “The Voice” Blake Shelton is embracing being a stepdad, according to Life & Style.

According to Life & Style, Shelton is helping raise Stefani’s three kids, Kingston, 18, Zuma, now 16, and Apollo, 10.

“When Blake got together with Gwen, he got an instant family,” a source told Life & Style. “A lot of guys would have been intimidated, but being a stepdad has fulfilled Blake in ways he never thought possible.”

In 2022, Shelton explained to People Magazine that spending more time with his stepkids was one reason he was stepping aside as a coach on “The Voice.

“If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I’m missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that’s our kids. This isn’t about me anymore and never will be again,” Shelton told People.

“Even though I’m a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. The kids see me as a very important person in their life,” he told People, noting that when they ask “Why isn’t Blake here?” he takes that “stuff to heart. I’ve made plenty of money, but you can’t buy time back. I don’t want any regrets.”

He told People that he’s happiest spending time with Stefani and the kids in Oklahoma.

Shelton recalled how his stepson Zuma Rossdale accidentally called country superstar Vince Gill with Shelton’s cell phone, according to a video posted on TikTok by CMT.

“He thought he was calling his nanny Vince, and he called Vince Gill,” Blake told the site. “I heard Vince Gill’s voice kind of laughing … and I saw Zuma throw the phone down. He was like, ‘I don’t know. There was some man that answered Vince’s phone.’’”

The boys are Stefani’s kids with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

“They’ve taught me something about myself that I never knew: I’m more than just a country singer or a goofy guy. I’m someone they actually lean on, and that’s not a responsibility that I ever had and not something that I ever considered even being into,” Shelton told People.

“It’s a different kind of self-worth. Maybe it’s the opposite of self-worth because you put yourself way down on the rung, and they move up ahead of you,” he added.
