Ariana Grande Gives Surprise Thank You to Botox at Palm Springs Ceremony

Former “Voice” coach and music superstar Ariana Grande gave a surprise thank you to Botox at an awards ceremony in Palm Springs, California.

“I’ve been performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I’d be hearing the words ‘Rising Star’ again, so I want to start by thanking my good friends Botox and Juvederm. I thought I’d be hearing ‘Slightly Withering Star’ or ‘Drooping Star’ by now, so thank you,” Grande said, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which also posted a video of the acceptance speech on X.

Grande made the comments while accepting an award for “rising star” at the Palm Springs International Film Awards on January 3. Although she is already a mega star in the music world, the “rising star” award was for her acting in the movie “Wicked,” THR reported.

In the video, Grande expressed gratitude for winning the award, declaring it an honor.

According to THR, Grande also thanked presenter Jennifer Coolidge. “Thank you Jennifer for doing this for me, for show up, for coming all this way. I can’t tell you what it means to me. Your comedic genius, your brilliance, has inspired me my entire life. I just love you,” she said.

Grande explained her appreciation for her character in “Wicked,” the “good” witch, Glinda.

“Though Glinda the good is full of frivolous humor and witty punchlines, comedy is just another way of telling the truth. She has an innate ability to make light out of darkness, even when there is pain, and I’m so grateful to have lived in that, to have learned so much from her over these past three years,” she added, according to THR.

According to People, Grande “wore a strapless silver metallic gown with horizontal paneling across her bodice and the entirety of the dress.”

People noted the bubble-like similarity, writing that Grande’s dress “was shaped in an oversized circle and similar to a bubble.” The witch Glinda rides in a bubble in “Wicked” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Her co-star Cynthia Erivo also attended the Palm Springs festival, according to People, and both actresses are nominated for Golden Globes. That ceremony will take place on January 5.
