When it was revealed that Adam Levine would return to “The Voice” to coach on Season 27, longtime viewers were thrilled. Alongside Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera, Levine was one of the original coaches but left after 16 seasons. His reasoning was simple: he wanted to spend more time with his young children and wife.
Despite not having Shelton to pick on and poke fun at, Levine quickly settled back in.
But now that the season is ending, is Levine planning to stick around for Season 28? Sadly, the answer is ‘no.’
Levine Revealed That Maroon 5 Has a New Album and Tour Coming
On May 12, NBC announced the new lineup for “The Voice” Season 28 coaches. Unfortunately, Michael Bublé is the only one from Season 27 returning. Rounding out the cast are Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg, who both left at the end of Season 26, and Niall Horan, who left at the end of Season 24.
So why isn’t Levine returning? While he has yet to reveal why, it may have something to do with Maroon 5’s future. On April 6, Jimmy Fallon asked him on “The Tonight Show” about rumours concerning Maroon 5 coming out with a new album and tour. “I can confirm the rumours are true,” Levine told him. “There are details, I can’t divulge all the details. But the details are basically, roughly, there’s a song coming. A single coming at the end of the month-ish.”
“The album is coming over the summer, non-specifically around the summertime,” he added. “And then even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish.”
Maroon 5’s New Single is About Adam Levine’s Wife
Levine revealed that the first song he wrote for Maroon 5’s new album is called “Priceless.” The song is dedicated to his wife, Behati Prinsloo.
“It was the first song that I wrote for the album,” Levine told People. “It’s just this really fun, Summery, chill vibe song that always felt really good. The song kind of, you know, being about my wife, was the first song out the gates that felt good, felt positive, really positive, and fun. It’s hard to explain, but it just instantly hit me. I thought, well, if it instantly hit me, obviously it could hit everybody else.”
When BLACKPINK’s Lisa agreed to collaborate with him on the song, Levine felt it “elevated it even more, which is amazing. And it kind of needed something extra, and she was like the perfect something extra at the perfect moment.”
