Michael Bublé has two contestants left vying for ‘The Voice’ season 27 winner, Jadyn Cree and Adam David.
The First Final 5 Performances of ‘The Voice’ 27
Host Carson Daly kicked off the night by announcing that the singers will be singing two songs tonight — a ballad and something more upbeat.
Renzo — ‘Fly Away’ by Lenny Kravtiz
Renzo was the first to go with his rendition of “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz. “It just works perfectly for who you are as an artist,” Legend told him during rehearsal. “I think you got the swag to pull it off.”
The soulful singer began the song with a slow tempo while strumming an acoustic guitar. He then kicked it up with a more rock beat and ended the hit with a standing ovation from his family and Legend.
“It was impossible not to get taken away by such a great performance,” Bublé told him. Legend said, “You were the showstopper last week, the show starter this week. Let’s win ‘The Voice!'”
Lucia Flores-Wiseman — ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd
Flores-Wiseman chose “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd for her ballad. She leaned into the ’70s song by wearing black bell bottom pants and a glittery silver top.
Her coach Levine told her after the heart-rending performance, “I feel so connected to you because what you want to do is lead with art and lead with feeling … that’s the most important thing about what we do.”
“You don’t get caught up in any of and you are so pure in that regard and I want you to stay pure throughout this competition and that’s exactly what you did,” Levine continued.
Jaydn Cree — ‘Lose You To Love Me’ by Selena Gomez
Jaydn Cree’s first song of the night was Selena Gomez’s song “Lose You To Love Me.” Her stripped-down performance caused both her coach Bublé and her father to tear up as they looked on proudly.
“I’m so proud of you and happy for you. We all wished that we knew ourselves. That’s it. Go to bed at night, we only have ourselves to answer to. And you know you, kid,” Bublé told her.
Jaelen Johnston — ‘What Was I Thinkin’ by Dierks Bentley
Jaelen Johnston was Kelsea Ballerini’s Super Save and went with “What Was I Thinkin’” by Dierks Bentley for his finale performance.
“Jaelen has one of those country voices, it’s almost like not trendy. It is tried and true country,” Ballerini said ahead of his performance.
At the beginning of Johnston’s performance, he missed a couple of lines of the song and hummed along but recovered quickly.
“I know you had a moment early on when you got nervous, but the thing is, this is like the most nerve-wracking think you could do,” Ballerini said when Johnston was done.
She added, “And the way that you recovered is the only thing that matters and you locked back in.”
Adam David — ‘You Are So Beautiful’ by Joe Cocker
Team Bublé’s Adam David stole hearts when he sang the soulful ballad “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.
“You show so much heart every time you sing. I love the texture of your voice, I love when it sounds a little broken. I think that’s what makes it sound so beautiful,” Legend said.
Bublé urged viewers to vote for David, saying, “He’s a blue-collar dude who’s one of the greatest musicians I’ve known and he’s my favorite singer.”
The Second Performances of ‘The Voice’ 27 Finale
Lucia Flores-Wiseman — ‘Wildflower’ by Billie Eilish
Flores-Wiseman’s second song of the finale night was Bille Eilish’s “Wildflower,” which she partly sang in Spanish as a nod to her heritage.
“For everyone voting at home, Lucia is not the typical ‘Voice’ winner, which is exactly why she should win ‘The Voice,” Levine said.
“I would love you to be that person that breaks the mold for the first time, because you have it. You have it all,” the Maroon Five singer added.
Adam David — ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ by Brandon Lake & Jelly Roll
David chose “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll for his second song of the night while playing the guitar with a choir in the background and fire effects for added drama.
His coach Bublé was clearly moved and said, “We are blessed that we are given the love of music, man.”
“To tough people like that and to feel that … that’s what it’s about, dude,” Bublé shared.
Jaydn Cree — ‘Come On Eileen’ by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jaydn Cree’s fun rendition of “Come On Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners was a hit with the “The Voice” audience and her coach Bublé.
“Everything you are comes through and you just bring so much joy. You just lead with light and you sounded great,” Bublé told Cree.
Renzo — ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’ by Jeff Buckley
Renzo’s second song was “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” by Jeff Buckley, which earned him a standing ovation from Ballerini, Bublé, and his coach Legend.
“I feel like you’ve shown something new in your voice today. The vibrato, the tenderness, the soulfulness, and then showing the rock out in the same song … it’s been stunning,” Legend said.
Jaelen Johnston — ‘Cold’ by Chris Stapleton
Rounding up the last performance of the finale night was Jaelen Johnston’s “Cold” by Chris Stapleton.
“I’m out of breath, I’m sweating,” his coach Ballerini said. “It’s a big song to take on and we got to rehearsal and you sang it … I didn’t know how good you were until you did that song.”
