Rosie O’Donnell is still adjusting to her slimmer figure. On Aug. 12, the 63-year-old comedian and former ‘The View’ host revealed on Instagram that she was “shocked” to learn she now wears a size 12 after trying on clothes for an upcoming trip to Australia.
(Adam Rountree/Getty Images)“Ok, so [I] went shopping to buy a comfy lounge wear outfit for my 22-hour flight to Australia,” O’Donnell wrote alongside a dressing room photo of herself in a black top and matching pants. “[I] was undecided as I can’t see myself in this new smaller body. [My friends] took this photo of me in the dressing room — I am shocked I’m a 12 — #mounjaro is a life saver.”
Inside Rosie’s Weight Loss Journey
O’Donnell has been candid about her weight loss journey, sharing in January 2023 that she began taking Mounjaro, an FDA-approved medication for type 2 diabetes that can also promote weight loss by reducing appetite.
By March, she told followers she had “lost more weight” since starting the medication, noting lifestyle changes after relocating to Ireland with her 12-year-old child, Clay. “It’s also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles and I don’t have a chef now. It’s me cooking for Clay and me,” she said.
Another unexpected factor in Rosie’s recent weight loss? She moved to Ireland in January 2025 with her youngest child, 12-year-old Clay, whom she shares with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds.
“I’ve lost more weight here,” the actress — who is also mom to Parker, 30, Chelsea, 27, Blake, 25, and Vivienne, 22 — said of her new residence in a March 20 TikTok video. “I am still on Mounjaro for my diabetes and one of the side effects is you lose weight.”
Adjusting to a New Body

Her clothing search came after she attended the Burlesque: The Musical premiere in London in late July, where she showcased her new look in a gray blazer and black pants with New York-inspired graffiti art, layered over a black T-shirt and paired with black boots.
Embracing Confidence on the Red Carpet
O’Donnell’s recent public appearances reflect her growing confidence in her transformed body. While her weight loss began as part of managing her health, she has embraced the physical change and the surprise of fitting into smaller clothes as part of a new chapter in her life.
