Prince William and Prince Harry’s cousin Rosie Roche has tragically passed away at the age of 20, the Sun reports. Roche is the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle, making her William and Harry’s second cousin.
Roche, who was studying English Literature at Durham University, was packing for a holiday with friends when she was found dead by her mother and sister. A university spokesperson says she “will be sorely missed.” The outlet reports that “a firearm was found close to her at the property in Norton.” Police have “deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.”
An obituary for Roche was posted by The Yorkshire Post on July 19.
“Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke Died on Monday, 14th July 2025. Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long,” the Yorkshire Post wrote. “Private family funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.”

The BBC reported that Kingston’s death was described as “unexpected” and “impulsive” at a pre-inquest review, with a gun being found near his body at his parents’ home in the Cotswolds.
His cause of death was determined to be a “traumatic wound to the head.”
A statemented was released on behalf of Lady Gabriella Kingston, Martin and Jill Kingston, Joanna Connolly and Emma Murray on February 27.
“It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family, and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing,” the statement read.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson also issued a statement on behalf of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
“The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family. In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family,” they said.
