Could We See Meghan Markle In New “Suits” Spinoff?

Could Meghan Markle make an appearance on NBC’s new spinoff of her old series “Suits?”

More than five years after the hit show wrapped, NBC is spinning the story in a new setting with “Suits LA.” The new series premieres on February 23 and features Stephen Amell as the only returning cast member in a lead role. But could the Duchess of Sussex make a cameo? The short answer is maybe, maybe not.

Meghan Markle Played Rachel Zane For Seven Seasons

Meghan Markle took on the role of paralegal Rachel Zane in season 1 of the original “Suits” in 2011. Zane turned out to be her breakout role. She appeared in 108 episodes before exiting at the end of season 7. Markle announced her departure from the series the day after Buckingham Palace announced her engagement to Prince Harry.

Show Creator Says Markle has “Open Invitation”

But will we see Markle’s Zane character again in the spinoff “Suits LA?”

At the Suits LA series premiere, series creator Aaron Korsh told “People Magazine,” “So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor. I think for me that’s a little … My brain blows up at the thought of that.”

Korsh says he has some concerns about Meghan Markle’s intense fame making it too difficult for the audience to see her as anything other than herself.

“So I think it blows up the world too much,” Korsh tells “People.” “Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”

When asked if Markle has “an open invitation” to rejoin the cast, Korsh replies, “Of course. Of course. Always. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah.”

Meghan Markle Focused on New Netflix Series and Lifestyle Brand

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle’s attention is firmly focused on future roles rather than past.

Her new Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” debuts March 4.

The Duchess has also rebranded her lifestyle website As Ever.

In a post on her new Instagram account, Meghan explains why she made the move to rename the brand. It was originally called American Riviera Orchard.

In the video, she says, “Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood; it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,. Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business. which was huge. So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.”

Markle just posted a vision board on her Instagram account dropping hints about the brand, captioned, “From memory lane to the memories I’m making today…”

The vision board includes what appears to be a menu in Meghan’s signature calligraphy. According to “People,” Markle actually taught calligraphy, gift-wrapping and book-binding at the Paper Source store in Beverly Hills from 2004-2005.

The vision board also features a black and white image of her and farm-to-table movement pioneer Alice Waters, who appears in her new show, “With Love, Meghan.”

Near that is a piece of fabric with the logo for As Ever woven into it.

At the bottom of the board is a green star that appears to be made by Markle and Prince Harry’s 5-year-old son Prince Archie. The artwork includes his handwritten name.
