Meghan Markle is just like any other mom when her children’s birthdays roll around. She couldn’t help but get sentimental while reflecting on Prince Archie’s earliest moments. On the June 3 episode of her Lemonada Media podcast, the Duchess of Sussex referenced the iconic Windsor Castle photo call where she and Prince Harry first introduced their son to the world in May 2019.
Prince Archie, now 6, was born in London when the couple was still working as full-time royals.
Meghan Markle Reflects on Introducing Archie to the World

As her firstborn’s birthday approached, Meghan Markle couldn’t help but get emotional while thinking back on those earliest days with her son.
“It seems like we’re all kind of figuring it out along the way, and also we evolve as women, and the chapters of being a mother evolve. I mean, Archie turns six tomorrow. He’s going to be six!” the Duchess of Sussex said. “Where did the time go? I remember carrying him out there, and I was just like, he is now six years old,” said Meghan on the latest episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
The First Time That Prince Harry and Meghan Broke From Royal Tradition
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have often found themselves in the hot seat for refusing to conform to every single old-school royal tradition. They broke with tradition in a big way when Prince Archie was born on May 6, 2019. The modernized royals opted to skip over the customary hospital step photo. According to People, Harry and Meghan chose to introduce their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in an organized photo call at Windsor Castle two days after his birth.
Eventually, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down from all of their royal duties. According to Yahoo, they relocated to Los Angeles in January 2020, and that is where they have made a permanent home for their family, which now includes Princess Lilibet, who was born in June 2021.
Markle is busy raising her young family, but can’t help but contemplate the future. Tina Knowles (Beyoncé’s mother) recently appeared on her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, and the two discussed raising daughters. The chat made Meghan contemplate whether or not she would one day work side-by-side with her daughter, Lilibet, to build something amazing.
