Even though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in California, their dad’s British accent is beginning to rub off on them.
“Some of the words that they still say with a British accent. So they’ll say, ‘Zebra,’ and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out,” Markle told Drew Barrymore on her eponymous talk show while promoting her new Netflix show “With Love, Meghan,” according to People. “They have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him, and I think it’s adorable. Zebra is a good one.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still living in the U.K. when they welcomed their son Archie in 2019. Lilibet, on the other hand, was born after the couple relocated to California in 2020.
Meghan Markle’s New Lifestyle Show “With Love, Meghan” Is Streaming On Netflix
Originally slated for a January 2024 release, “With Love, Meghan” was pushed back to a March 4 premiere due to the California wildfires. The show’s synopsis reads: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
The series debut coincides with the launch of Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever. The initial collection includes raspberry jam, an assortment of herbal teas, and boxed mixes for shortbread cookies and crepes. In a March 2025 interview with People, Markle opened up about the significance of her daughter Lilibet witnessing her embark on a new chapter.
“Being able to have my own little girl, as I’ve spent so much of my life championing the rights of girls and women, and to be able to see this as a multigenerational story — Archie is of course included in that, my husband is of course included in that — but I love the heritage feeling of it and knowing this is something that I can create in front of my daughter and teach her what it’s like to be a working mom,” Markle said. “This is something that hopefully can be part of her legacy too.”
“With Love, Meghan” Is An Ode To Meghan Markle’s The Tig Blog
While starring on “Suits,” Markle ran her own lifestyle blog called The Tig, which gave fans a look inside her favorite restaurants, travel spots, and dishes. She shut down The Tig ahead of walking down the aisle with Prince Harry in 2017.
“Well, I loved The Tig, but I certainly love my husband more,” she told People. “So that was a choice I made at the time, and I wouldn’t change that for a second.”
When announcing As Ever, Markle referenced The Tig, which delighted fans: “As Ever essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do. And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can.”
