It was a red, white, and royal Fourth of July in Montecito. Meghan Markle, 43, gave fans a personal peek into how she and Prince Harry celebrated Independence Day with their two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.

Posting to her ‘As Ever’ Instagram account, the Duchess of Sussex shared a short, beautifully shot video of herself assembling a festive charcuterie board.

The board was layered with red, white, and blue fruits, cheeses, crackers, and her signature edible flowers.

The flowers were the centerpiece of her “easy entertaining” spread.

Wearing a relaxed blue-and-white striped shirt reminiscent of her 2018 Wimbledon look, Meghan styled the platter with blueberries, blackberries, watermelon, strawberries, and star-shaped cheeses.

The board was completed with bread, crackers, a dish of her own jam, and placed next to two drinks on an outdoor table.

Written across the video in delicate calligraphy: “Easy Entertaining. Happy 4th of July!” Meghan also added an American flag emoji in the caption.

The Romantic Story Behind Meghan and Harry’s July 4th Cupcake Tradition

Meghan shared a fun fact about the lavish spread behind her. The Fourth of July has always held a special meaning for Meghan and Harry. The couple’s second date took place on July 4, 2016, and Harry shared the story in his memoir, ‘Spare’.

“She walked in, wearing a pretty blue sundress with white pinstripes,” Harry wrote. “She was aglow. I stood and said: ‘I bear gifts.’ A pink box.”

“She opened the box. Cupcakes. Red, white, and blue cupcakes, to be exact. In honor of Independence Day,” he added.

This year, Meghan continued that tradition in another post, showing photos of those cupcakes, including versions decorated by their children. “Our second date was the 4th of July 2016 and H brought me cupcakes to celebrate. Now, all these years later, our two children are in on the tradition,” she captioned the image. “Happy Independence Day! May your day be as sweet as these cupcakes 🧁.”

Since launching As Ever, Meghan has begun sharing more glimpses into her life with Harry and their children, from holiday traditions to throwback memories.

Earlier this month, she received a wave of online attention after posting a “Baby Momma Dance” throwback from the delivery room to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday.

Despite mixed reactions, fans continue to engage with the account, which blends Meghan’s love of family, food, and personal storytelling with simple, polished visuals.

From charcuterie boards to cupcake memories, Meghan Markle’s Fourth of July post gave fans something rare: a peek into the sweet, simple moments that matter most.
