Rachael Kirkconnell Thanked Matt James for His ‘Never Ending Love’ in last Instagram Post Before Split

Rachael Kirkconnell gushed about former “Bachelor” Matt James and their love for each other in her last Instagram post about him before their shock split.

“Happiest of birthdays to my best friend, my teammate, my sous chef, the man that has my whole heart. you fill it (and my tummy) with so much love and laughter and i’m so thankful i get to dance through this life with you. thank you for your never ending love and support and smooches and snuggles. to many more adventures, happy birthday my pumpkin ♡” she wrote on December 5.

That post included a video collage of loving scenes showing the couple, including one of them kissing. She hasn’t posted on her Instagram page since that time.

Kirkconnell and James dated since 2020 after meeting on his season of “The Bachelor.”

On November 27, she also posted a loving photo showing her with James.

Matt James Announced the Break Up on Instagram

On his own Instagram page, James announced on January 16 that the couple had broken up.

“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔” he wrote.

He disabled comments on the post, although it was liked by fellow “Bachelor” Joey Graziadei and thousands of others.

James spoke about his relationship with Kirkconnell in June 2024, and he said he did not feel pressure to propose to her.

“We’re doing great. I feel like when you feel pressure, it’s when you don’t wanna do something. So I’ve never really felt pressure [to get engaged] because it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do,” James, 32, told US Weekly in that interview.

“And it’s something that we’re gonna do at some point. That’s why we’re together and what we’re working toward. I’m excited about our future.”

He told US Weekly it was going to be tough to surprise Kirkconnell with a proposal. “It’s gonna be tough because she needs a reason why we do anything — and not a crazy reason, [but] just to know why. She never does something just to do it. So when that happens, I’ll have to think outside the box. I’ll have to stretch the truth on why we’re doing something,” he told the publication.
