Former “The Bachelorette” star and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Gabby Windey has evacuated her home in the Los Angeles, California area due to the ongoing wildfires.
Despite deciding to leave her home in the wee hours of the morning, the DWTS and Bachelor Nation alum shared she felt “incredibly lucky.” She also noted she was praying for others in the area.
Gabby Windey Evacuated Her Place at 4 a.m.
In an Instagram Story posted on January 8, Windey shared a photo of herself on the road. She wrote, “We evacuated at 4 a.m. due to heavy smoke and no power. I feel incredibly lucky we have somewhere to go, and I am praying for everyone losing their homes, firefighters, medical staff, and patients.”
In the evening, she shared an additional Instagram Story. Windey posted a map showing the areas where the fires were the worst and noted it was from the app Watch Duty.
“This is just one fire there are many popping up. Watch duty is a great app to keep track of evacuations but plan ahead and get out early if possible,” she wrote.
Windey continued, “Not worth it to wait and air quality is terrible. Thinking of everyone.”
Luckily for Windey, she was able to evacuate her home without flames drawing near. Not everybody else has been able to say the same.
A Number of Other DWTS & Bachelor Nation Alums Are Scrambling
While Windey is safe and away from her place, numerous other reality television stars are not feeling quite as secure at this stage. Other Bachelor Nation stars who have evacuated their Los Angeles area homes include Kelsey Anderson, Rachel Recchia, Katie Thurston, Deandra Kanu, and Lea Cayanan.
Quite a few DWTS stars have already evacuated or are on high alert in case they need to do so as well.
Julianne Hough shared via Instagram she’s evacuated her home. In addition, her brother and DWTS judge Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert shared on Instagram they evacuated just to be safe.
Several other show pros are keeping a close eye on the wildfire spread and hoping their homes remain safe. In addition, DWTS alum Cameron Mathison shared via Instagram his home burned to the ground.
DWTS alums Marlee Matlin and Chrishell Stause have also revealed via Instagram Stories they have evacuated their homes amid the current wildfire emergencies in Los Angeles as well.
