Clare Crawley Shares Touching Tribute After Devastating Loss

Former “The Bachelorette” star Clare Crawley was flooded with love from Bachelor Nation after sharing devastating news. She shared via an Instagram post on February 5 that her mother had died.

One supporter commented on Crawley’s post, saying, “I am so very sorry, Claire. Sending hugs, love, and prayers. I hope you can feel my warmth.”

Clare Crawley Wrote Her Mom Is Now Her ‘Forever Guardian Angel’

The caption of Crawley’s post read, “My forever guardian angel.”

She included two photos in her post. The first showed her sitting with her mother on a bed at her care facility. Crawley had one arm wrapped around her mom’s shoulder and held one of her mom’s hands in her free hand. The photo did not show the women’s faces, but it was clear who was in the picture.

The second photo included a fitting quote titled “He Only Takes the Best,” from an unknown author.

“God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around her and whispered, ‘Come with me.’ With tear-filled eyes we watched her suffer and fade away. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best,” the poem read.

In an Instagram Story, Crawley shared a screenshot of a quote surrounded by teardrops. “Grief is the price we pay for love,” the quote read.

Crawley Received a Flood of Support From Friends & Fans

In just the first hour after Crawley shared her heartbreaking news, her post had nearly 20,000 “likes” from fans and followers showing their support. In addition, nearly 1,200 comments poured in during the same timeframe.

“You had a beautiful relationship and she was equally as blessed as you to have that relationship to the very end. Prayers and love,” read one person’s comment.

Another comment read, “I’m so sorry, she’s the lucky one. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate the future without your sweet mama.”

In September 2021, amid her split from former “Bachelorette” fiance Dale Moss, Crawley revealed in an Instagram post that her mother had been placed in hospice care.

A May 2021 Instagram post of Crawley’s honored her mother on a difficult Mother’s Day. “Sometimes it’s too hard to put it into words, the gravity of the hole that Alzheimer’s and dementia has left us with. Names may not be remembered, and memories fade away, but one thing it will NEVER take away is the love between a mother and a daughter,” Crawley wrote.
