6 Most Surprising ‘Bachelor’ Moments in History

The “Bachelor” franchise is known for its twists and turns.

How many times have we heard that it’s “going to be the most shocking rose ceremony ever”? In some cases, though, it really was.

These are the 6 most surprising “Bachelor” moments in history.

Arie Luyendyk Changes His Mind

Arie Luyendyk delivered one of the most surprising twists when he ditched his fiancee, Becca, and announced that he wanted to win back the heart of the woman he sent home, Lauren.

After a tearful explanation to Becca, he traveled to Lauren’s home to win her back.

It appears that Luyendyk made the right decision though, as the couple is now married with three kids. Luyendyk fills his Instagram page with pictures of their happy family.

Hannah Ann and Madison Prewitt were both ditched on television by “Bachelor” Peter Weber, who took “can’t make up his mind” to new heights. First, he proposed to Hannah and then broke up with her, before choosing Madison, and then breaking up with her too.

Jason Mesnick Picks Molly

Bachelors who change their mind make for good – if not, sad – television, and it’s happened several times. One of those times was when Jason Mesnick broke up with Melissa Rycroft in favor of the runner-up, Molly Malaney.

As with Arie, it worked out. Mesnick and Molly are still married, and they are realtors, according to his Instagram page.

Joey Graziadei’s final had a different kind of twist. His eventual fiancee Kelsey went to talk to the other runner-up Daisy Kent, who had already figured out that she was not going to be the one. But there were no fireworks. Instead, the women demonstrated that they have a strong bond.

Now “Bachelor” host Jesse Palmer’s finale had a new twist when he decided to give his choice a one-way plane ticket so they could keep getting to know each other, when fans were expecting an engagement ring.

By 2020, Palmer was married – to a different woman, Emely Fardo, a Brazilian model, according to People.

Juan Pablo was one of the least liked Bachelors in franchise history, and his behavior during his season generated a lot of conversation. He told his choice, Nikki, that he liked her a lot, and there were fireworks with finalist Clare Crawley and the early departure of Andi Dorfman from the season.
