“Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans’ boyfriend August Keen addressed rumors about their relationship.
During a December 2024 TikTok Live, alongside Evans, Keen said some fans believe he is with Evans due to her wealth. He responding that he has been managing her and other celebrities for about 15 years.
“Anybody saying that I need Jenelle, I’ve been managing Jenelle for about seven years. And Jenelle started off as one of my clients. I’ve been managing major celebrities for over 15 years. I started at Def Jam Records working with DMX, Mary J. Blige and everybody at Def Jam Records when I was 19 [expletive] years old,” said Keen.
Keen also said he and Evans are both wealthy.
“I don’t need Jenelle to be rich and powerful. I was rich and powerful before I even met Jenelle,” said Keen in the TikTok video. “She’s also very well-off.”
August Keen Says He Will Not Propose to Jenelle Evans Soon
While filming the December 2024 TikTok Live, Keen said he does not intend to marry Evans for quite some time.
“I’m not going to propose to Jenelle. We spoke about that and it won’t be any time soon. We’re mature people,” said Keen during the TikTok Live.
He noted that Evans and her estranged husband, David Eason, separated in February 2024.
“Jenelle just got out of a marriage, and she ain’t trying to get married. And neither am I,” said Keen.
He clarified that he might ask for Evans’ hand in marriage “in about five years.”
Jenelle Evans Shared a Video of Her Date With August Keen
Evans, who currently lives in Las Vegas where Keen resides, will often share videos of her spending time with her boyfriend on her social media accounts. For instance, on November 30, Evans uploaded an Instagram video that showed her and Keen going on a date to the restaurant Nellies, located at the MGM Hotel in Las Vegas.
At the end of the video, she noted that Keen paid for the dinner and seemed to reference her past relationships.
“I didn’t have to pay for once,” said Evans during the video.
August Keen Spoke About His Relationship With Jenelle Evans to Us Weekly
Us Weekly reported that Keen called authorities about Evans’ alleged behavior in August 2024. According to Us Weekly, Keen told 911 operators that Evans was inebriated and hit him. In a statement to Us Weekly, Keen said that he “and Jenelle have moved past this and are in a really good place right now.”
“There’s so much to look forward to, and we’re just focused on the future and family. We have some exciting things coming up and can’t wait to share,” said Keen to Us Weekly.
The publication also reported that Keen addressed his call to 911 in an October 2024 Instagram Story.
“No, I was not hit, I have a zero tolerance for violence and would not stick around any [domestic violence] situations,” stated Keen, as reported by Us Weekly.
In addition, he explained why he called the authorities.
“I wanted to be escorted out with some of my stuff. I don’t like alcohol, because in heated moments, things can escalate. I wanted for the both of us to end the night safely. [I] thought a mediator at that moment could help us call it a night,” read a portion of his statement. “My intentions were to never get any of us in any trouble, on the contrary, I highly respect and love her very much. And FYI, no children were around at any point. I think if the police saw anything fishy, they would have done [their] job.”
