“Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood is back on Instagram following a year-long absence.
People magazine reported that Portwood posted a new Instagram upload in December 2024. In the edited image, Portwood held a cat.
“Hi loves! it’s been a year long break from social media, but I’m back!
Amber🌸,” read the caption of the December 14 post.
Several fans flocked to the post’s comments section to share that they were excited about Portwood’s return to Instagram.
“Good to see you back Beautiful Amber! ❤️🔥,” wrote a commenter.
“Yaaaaay. Missed you!” added another.
“I missed your posts!!! I pray all is well with you!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏,” shared a different person.
“You’ve been missed beautiful. I hope you are doing well, physically and mentally. I can only imagine the pain you went through. Praying for you. ❤️,” commented a fan.
Amber Portwood Commented on Her Ex-Boyfriend’s Claims
Portwood and her ex-boyfriend, Gary Shirley, share a 16-year-old daughter named Leah. Collider reported that Shirley has said Portwood has neglected to visit Leah. In addition, Shirley alleged that Portwood has failed to pay child support in a timely manner, as reported by Collider.
The publication reported that Portwood addressed Shirley’s claims in a December TikTok Live.
“Here’s a secret guys, not only have I tried to see my daughter but I was told by her father that I was not allowed to come get her,” said Portwood.
Portwood then said she could not share more information about the situation, as it will be featured on the upcoming third season of “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.”
“I can’t say anything else right now. Even though it’s not out yet … when you watch the show coming out, you guys will be able to see some things you probably never knew,” said Portwood while filming her video, as reported by Collider.
Portwood also said she pays her child support.

During “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” season 2, Shirley shared that Leah was considering having her stepmother, Kristina Shirley, adopt her, as reported by Us Weekly.
While speaking to Us Weekly in August 2024, “Teen Mom” personality Cory Wharton shared his thoughts about the situation.
“At this point, I just want Leah to be happy. Whatever Leah wants, I think she’s at a stage where everyone in that party needs to listen and kind of hear her out because it’s all about the kid first. I think that’s what Gary’s trying to do,” said Wharton during the Us Weekly interview.
