For the first time ever, Australia’s version of “Survivor” is going global. The 2025 season, officially titled “Survivor: Australia v. The World,” is bringing some of the biggest names in “Survivor” history into the Outback for a high-stakes showdown, according to Paramount New Zealand. Fan-favorite Aussie players will go head-to-head with international legends, making this one of the most stacked seasons we’ve ever seen.
A Global Invasion: The U.S.A. Players
According to Entertainment Weekly, the global team is bringing the heat with three of “Survivor’s” most legendary U.S. players:
- Parvati Shallow (“Cook Islands,” “Micronesia,” “Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Winners at War”) is arguably the most iconic “Survivor” player of all time. She’s got the charm, the strategy, and the ability to control the game without people even realizing it. Will she be able to stand tall against other countries?
- Cirie Fields (“Panama,” “Micronesia,” “Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Game Changers”) has become the queen of social strategy. She’s one of the best to ever play the game and fans have been dying to see her take another shot at it. Can she win?
- Tony Vlachos (“Cagayan,” “Game Changers,” and “Winners at War”) is legitimately pure chaos. He is unpredictable, unrelenting, and will be the only two-time U.S. winner to play an international season. Can he use his instincts to stay in the game the longest?
They won’t be alone, either. Contestants from “Survivor” South Africa, Norway, and New Zealand will also be joining the mix, making this a true battle of the best.
Australia’s Best To Defend Their Turf
The home team is stacked with some of the biggest names in “Australian Survivor” history, and they’re not about to let a bunch of outsiders steal the crown. The “Survivor AU” social media announced three of the Australian players who will be competing.
- Shonee Bowtell (“Champions v. Contenders 1 & 2” and “Heroes v. Villains”) is known for having a flawless social game, being an elite strategist, and has become an absolute fan favorite. Will she succeed against those from around the world?
- George Mladenov a.k.a. King George (“Brains v. Brawn” and “Heroes v. Villains”) is one of those players where people either love him or hate him… but you cannot ignore him. He plays big, talks big, and has the receipts to back it up. Will his big personality be an asset or a crutch against so many veteran players?
- Kirby Bentley (“Titans v. Rebels”) is one of the most exciting newer players, bringing both physical and strategic firepower into the game. Can she get a win being one of the least experienced players in the game?
With this kind of lineup, there’s zero chance this season is anything less than iconic.
This Is Gonna Be Wild
“We obviously take a tremendous amount of pride in the people we find to play Survivor. And regardless of what the Emmys might think, there is no better casting team in our genre than ours. And that is proven out by how many other shows want Survivor players,” U.S.A. host, Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly. It’s obvious he is a little salty about being one of the few shows not nominated for the Reality Television Casting Emmy in 2024, but he has a point about how “Survivor” players continue to compete on other reality series.
The truth is, mixing different “Survivor” formats, play-styles, and legends into one game will probably lead to absolute chaos. And it will be interesting to see how the U.S.A. legends stack up. Will Parvati’s social game hold up against George’s theatrics? Will Tony be able to outmaneuver a stacked Aussie lineup? How will Cirie adapt to “Australian Survivor’s” brutal format? Only time will tell.
Either way, this is shaping up to be a must-watch season, and if the gameplay is even half as good as the cast, we’re in for something special. For those local to the area, “Survivor: Australia v. The World” premieres on Channel 10 in Australia in 2025. And with U.S. players in the mix, there’s a good chance a streaming service will pick it up for international fans; fingers crossed!
