As “Survivor” fans eagerly await the cast list reveal for the show’s hotly anticipated 50th season, iconic player Parvati Shallow set the record straight on whether she’ll return for the milestone season.
“No, you’re not gonna see me out there,” Shallow told TV Insider of the season titled “In the Hands of the Fans,” which will feature returning players from various seasons. Instead, the “Traitors” season 2 alum revealed that her future ambitions are taking her behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.
“I’m moving out of reality competition, and I’m moving into host and executive producer roles and creating,” she told the publication.
“I started a podcast called Nice Girls Don’t Win with story producer Amy Bean, who was out on ‘Deal or No Deal’ with me, and we’re interviewing interesting people and having really fun conversations there,” she continued. “I’ve moved into a whole new arena of creative projects, and I’m really excited about what’s coming next.”
Still, “Survivor” fans will get to see Shallow compete at least one last time before she takes a step back from reality competitions. The 2025 season of Australia’s version of “Survivor” is officially titled “Survivor: Australia v. The World” and will feature returning players from the American and Australian franchises including Shallow, according to Paramount New Zealand.
Parvati Shallow’s Upcoming Memoir, Nice Girls Don’t Win
Shallow certainly left a lasting legacy on “Survivor,” first competing in the show’s 13th season, returning to win the series’ 16th iteration and placing as the runner-up in season 20. The last time “Survivor” featured an all-returning-players cast in season 40, fan-favorite Shallow was among the contestants. More recently, she’s branched out by participating in the second seasons of the “Traitors” and the second season of “Deal or No Deal Island.”
All this and more will be detailed in her upcoming memoir, “Nice Girls Don’t Win: How I Burned It All Down to Claim My Power.” The book, set to launch in July, “tells the origin story of how I became the Black Widow, what led me to this point in my life, and then moving through getting married, a divorce, and the challenges that I went through there, and then coming out, falling in love, going on Traitors, and then what’s next,” Shallow told TV Insider. “So it’s a very current, up-to-the-moment story that I worked really hard on, and I’m really proud of.”
Survivor Season 50: What We Know So Far
Though no official casting details have been revealed, fans are privy to a major twist that will mark the series’ golden anniversary season.
“Season 50 is in your hands,” the show’s longtime host, Jeff Probst, revealed in a February Instagram post. “That’s right, you heard me. We are turning the game over to you. Throughout the airing of season 48, we’re going to be opening votes for you to determine key elements that will shape season 50 for our returning players, before they even get out to Fiji. So if you wanna know when these votes will drop, you gotta be watching season 48. The good news is, it’s a very good season!”
