The “Survivor 48” finale will take place on May 21, and as we get ready to say goodbye to one season, we are waiting to welcome another. “Survivor 49″ is expected to air in fall 2025. Although the official date has not yet been announced, the premiere is expected around September. Here is everything we know about the upcoming series.
Who Will Be Cast in ‘Survivor 49?’
Few details about “Survivor 49” have been confirmed, but we know it will continue to air on CBS on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. EST. Episodes are 90 minutes long, and the show was filmed in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, Parade reports.
The official list of castaways has not been announced, but there have been rumors that country star Dierks Bentley was signing on. Host Jeff Probst addressed the speculation in an interview with TVLine in February 2025.
“Somebody else put it in the air that Dierks Bentley was going to be on the show,” Probst told TVLine. “That’s not the case. We did reach out to him. We said, ‘Man, we’d love to talk to you if you’re interested,’ and he said, ‘Maybe one day.’ I genuinely think he meant it, but he said not right now.”
Who Won ‘Survivor 48?’
Until more details are confirmed about “Survivor 49,” we have to focus on what we know about “Survivor 48.” The finale will take place on May 21 and air on CBS from 8 to 11 p.m. ET, and the Final Five have been confirmed as Joe Hunter, Mitch Guerra, Eva Erickson, Kyle Fraser, and Kamilla Karthigesu.
Filmed in Fiji, just like the upcoming season will be, Probst shared his thoughts on the show in an interview with EW on May 20. He referred to it as one of his “favorite seasons,” and revealed his good feelings about it right at the start.
“I felt it the minute the players got off the boats in Fiji. There was an electricity from the group that was palpable,” Probst told EW. “Those first moments are always telling because, despite spending all year getting to know these players as individuals, we can’t predict anything about the group dynamic that will take place once they are all together. So the morning of day one is always a big indicator. That same enthusiastic energy is there all the way to the end. It was remarkable!”
“Survivor 50” has also been announced to premiere in February 2026 and is themed “In the Hands of the Fans.” Fans will get the opportunity to see some of their favorite contestants return.
