Inside ‘Y&R’ Star Melody Thomas Scott’s $6.2 Million Mansion

“The Young and the Restless” star Melody Thomas Scott sold her stunning Los Angeles mansion in 2022. The Mansion Global reported that the actress and her husband, TV producer Edward Scott, sold the property for $6.14 million.

The mansion, which the couple owned for decades, has had its price reduced from $6.19 million. Prior to that, they listed the property in 2019 for $7.25 million, according to Soaps.com. Scott and her husband purchased the home in 2001 for $2.3 million.

A Rundown of Scott’s Recently Sold Property

Scott’s over 6,000-square-foot Tudor-style mansion is nestled within a guarded gated community at the top of Mulholland Drive. The five-bedroom home boasts wooden beams, vaulted ceilings, and wood paneling.

There’s also a renovated kitchen with a walk-in pantry, an underground wine cellar, and a tasting room. Other amenities inside the property include a gym and a luxurious guest suite with a separate entrance.

Outside, “The Young and the Restless” star’s estate features an infinity edge pool, an outdoor gourmet kitchen, and beautiful landscaping.

In an email Scott sent to Mansion Global, she revealed there’s an “interesting shift in aesthetic preference” while the house is on the market. She added:

Initially, everyone wanted to make major changes to the home. Suddenly, people were loving it the way it was. We ended up selling with multiple offers. English Tudors may be making a comeback

Nikki’s Estate Surprise on ‘The Young & the Restless’

Scott’s alter ego, Nikki Newman, also had some real-estate developments on “The Young and the Restless.” In November 2024, Victor Newman surprised his wife with a newly renovated ranch.

Avid fans of the soap know that the iconic Newman Ranch was burned down by Sharon Newman in 2012. Scott admitted that it was heartbreaking to lose the original set, which she has considered home for many years. She told Soap Opera Digest:

I felt that it was not only Nikki’s house, but my house. For decades. To see it be destroyed was very emotional and upsetting.

So when she heard that the set would be rebuilt just in time for “The Young and the Restless” 13,000th episode milestone, she was very thrilled.

What a delicious secret it was! I didn’t know the Ranch’s debut would be timed to our 13,000th episode. Great planning on Josh’s part! The new set exceeded my expectations.
