Kelly Thiebaud Confirms That Britt Is Back on GH

Fans of “General Hospital” watched as Jason spotted a woman at the airport in Paris who was a dead ringer for Britt Westbourne. He tried to get through the gate to talk to her, but airport security blocked him as she left for Croatia. Jason can’t get her out of his mind, and GH viewers have been left to wonder if Britt might actually be alive.

Kelly Thiebaud has now confirmed in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest that Britt is indeed back from the dead. “I feel so lucky to have a character that I really enjoy playing. I definitely missed her,” says the actress.

Kelly Left to Pursue Other Goals

Kelly first appeared as Britt in Port Charles in the fall of 2012, and she has since returned to and departed from the role in the years that followed. When she last left the soap, in early 2023, the actress explained to Soap Opera Digest that, “As much as I love Britt and I love the fans and I love working on General Hospital, I just felt like I had to leave and go and pursue those other dreams and goals of mine, because being [on GH full time] doesn’t really allow the flexibility to do other projects.”

The last time that we saw Britt, she appeared to be dying in her mother, Liesl’s, arms. Ironically, Liesl has also returned to Port Charles, but does she know that her precious Britta is actually alive?

Will Britt and Jason Reunite?

While Jason has been having flashbacks to his time with Britt, their relationship had barely gotten off the ground when he was presumed dead. By the time he returned to the GH canvas, Britt had already left.

“That was heartbreaking when that pairing got separated and could no longer continue on the road that they were going on,” says Kelly. “It felt like I finally found someone that I could really grow with on the show, and I was so excited for it, so hopefully, that continues.”

“As far as the story goes, obviously, I want Britt and Jason to get back together,” Thiebaud explained. “I’m very much excited to pick up where we left off, to continue to grow as an actor, take the lessons and the experiences I’ve been through, and be better and more present in my work, be more present on set with people who work so hard to put the show together. That’s just really what I’m focused on.”

This is also the perfect time for Britt to surface, as Rocco has just discovered that she is his biological mother. Britt stole one of Dante and Lulu’s embryos and ended up giving birth to him.
“That’s going to be exciting for sure,” Thiebaud said about the new development.
