A shock wave went through the daytime community as it learned of the passing of “General Hospital” star, Tristan Rogers. The man known to many as Robert Scorpio for five decades succumbed to lung cancer on Aug. 15, 2025. After the initial shock wore off, many of Rogers’ co-stars took to social media to pay their respects and share their memories of working with the iconic actor.
Rogers had made his final onscreen appearance on GH on July 18, 2025. Robert Scorpio’s daughter, Sasha, and her newborn, Daisy, landed on the superspy’s Paris doorstep for safe refuge. She was escorted by Jason Morgan, who had shared many moments of his own with the agent. Sofia Mattsson (Sasha) and Steve Burton (Jason) have both taken to Instagram to share their thoughts on those precious scenes.
Steve Burton Is Honored to Share Tristan’s Final Scenes
ABCSteve Burton shared his thoughts on those final scenes with Tristan. It was obvious that the acting legend was weak and fading, so he wanted to be sure that Tristan was as comfortable as possible.
He told his Instagram followers,

The man. The legend. The OG.
I’m truly honored that I had the chance to work alongside Tristan on his very last day at work. Not only that, I got to spend real time with him…just making sure he was taken care of. You could see he was going through it, but the strength he showed to still be there… it spoke volumes.
Most people in that situation might have said, “Stay home, take care of yourself.” But for Tristan, @generalhospital was his home. And there was no place he would rather have been.
Even though he wasn’t feeling his best, he would joke around, still giving us a piece of who he was.
That’s the mark of a true legend.
Tristan, thank you for everything you did. You paved the way for guys like me.
Rest easy, my friend. Your light and laughter live on.”
Tristan’s Appearance Also Marked Sofia Mattson’s Exit From GH
ABC“General Hospital” viewers watched as Sasha feared for the safety of her newborn daughter, Daisy, for weeks. When Jason delivered the new mom and her baby to the safety of her father, Robert Scorpio, it still didn’t click that her portrayer might be leaving for real. The confirmation of Sofia Mattsson’s exit came almost immediately after her final scenes with Rogers were aired, and it seemed like a comforting ending for both. It was good to know that the Scorpio family had been reunited, even if it was overseas.
