‘General Hospital’ Recap for Aug. 19: Britt Blows Up on Jason

If you missed “General Hospital” today, then you missed a lot. Carly pushed someone into the Metro Court pool, Joss and Vaughn had sex, and Britt blew up at Jason. Drew and Michael are both strategizing, and Maxie’s heart stopped after using face cream that contains Sidwell’s Zincite.

It’s All About the Strategy and Witnesses

ABC

Michael arrives at Sonny’s to find Diane already there. She wants all the details of what went down between him and Drew. As he explains, Diane agrees that Drew crossed all of the lines, but it doesn’t change the fact that Michael should not have punched him. The fact that he had the presence of mind to get Wylie out of there before swinging makes the assault look premeditated.

Sonny tells his son the demands that were made, and Michael refuses to let Willow anywhere near the kids. He finally tells them that he thinks she was behind everything that happened with Daisy. Diane then goes through the list of witnesses who may be able to help him beat Drew.

Meanwhile, Drew stops into GH and wants documentation of his assault by Michael. Liz tries to blow him off, especially after Drew insists that he is doing this to help Willow. He then goes to see Anna Devane about his assault and finds her already speaking with ADA Turner. Drew doesn’t realize that he has been the topic of discussion, with Justine thinking that he is just as much of a criminal as Sonny is. She wants to bring them both down.

Drew tells them everything that transpired with Michael and they also conclude that things will come down to who witnessed the attack.

Nina Takes a Dip With Carly’s Help

ABC

Carly and Lulu are seated at a table at the Metro Court pool discussing Rocco. She is strongly encouraging Lulu to reconsider her approach with Liesl and Rocco. Carly believes that Liesl only wants what is best for Rocco and isn’t a real threat. As they speak, Nina approaches. She and Carly immediately start battling over Willow and Michael.

Carly is furious because if Nina had just told the truth early on, it would have spared everyone. Willow would likely have her kids with her, rather than the zero visitation that is currently in place. Nina pushes back, but she knows that Carly is right. As the fight goes on, the insults get uglier, and Nina goes to swing at Carly, who then grabs her arm and shoves her into the pool. Nina gets out even angrier, as Carly tells her that the next time she swings at her, she will be arrested.

Maxie’s Heart Stops

ABC

Maxie and Lucy have doubled up to do a Home & Heart segment with Flora to introduce their latest Deception product. As Maxie applies their new night cream, she collapses. An ambulance takes her to GH, and Brook Lynn has called everyone closest to her. Liz and Felicia happen to be there with Lucas when she arrives. Lucas and Liz begin doing chest compressions after she codes and work to bring her back to life.

In the waiting room, Felicia, Lulu, and Brook Lynn are all there to console Spinelli, who is a mess. He can’t imagine his life without Maxie and is heartbroken even at the idea of her not pulling through. Eventually, Liz’s compressions work, and Maxie is stabilized. Lucas tells everyone waiting that she appeared to have a heart attack. He asks about things that might have triggered a reaction, and Lucy downplays the idea of it being the face cream.

Britt Blows Up at Jason

ABC

Vaughn found Joss in the shower, fully clothed, after they disposed of a body in Dalmatia. She is freaked out, and his initial consolation turns into sex once they are out of the shower. After they finish, Joss starts calculating their next spy move. She is taking the investigative lead, and Vaughn is allowing her to. She still thinks that she needs to talk to Britt alone before she goes underground. They know that their covers are blown, so the clock is ticking. Vaughn tells her to sleep as he keeps watch first.

Meanwhile, in Britt’s villa, Jason has let himself in. He wants to know how she survived Heather’s attack, and she refuses to give details. Jason tells her that if she is in danger, he is there to help, and that sets Britt off. She doesn’t want to be saved anymore by the man who chose Carly over her. The two rehash their history with Britt getting more furious by the minute. She tells him that her Huntington’s is now in remission, and life at a European resort isn’t too shabby. Britt eventually throws Jason out, and after he leaves, she makes a phone call. She tells whoever is on the other end that they have a problem.
