The 52nd annual Daytime Emmys are coming up soon, with a ceremony set for October 17, 2025, in Pasadena, California. On July, 9, 2025, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the first of it nominees according to Deadline.
“General Hospital” star, Laura Wright, was nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series, for her portrayal of Carly Spencer, a character she has played since 2005. This is Laura’s seventh nomination, and she took home a trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series in 2011.
Not long after her name was announced, the actress took to Instagram to respond.
Laura Wasn’t Expecting the Nomination

The talent pool on “General Hospital” runs deep, and over the last year, the writing has dramatically improved, resulting in numerous “Emmy-worthy” performances. Laura herself seemed to be shocked by the nomination.
“Wow. Well how about that,” she commented while sharing GH’s official post on her nomination to her Instagram story.
Laura later posted a carousel of photos on Instagram and spoke of basking in all of the love that she has received.
She said, “Shining bright and feeling so much love today. Thank you all for the congratulatory messages- your love and support mean so much to me- it’s such a fun ride. I’m honored to stand next to the incredible women in this category and so grateful to be a part of the Daytime world.”
Only three shows earned nominations for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series this year: ABC’s “General Hospital” (last year’s winner), Peacock’s “Days of Our Lives,” and CBS’s “The Young and the Restless.”
