Could GH’s Carly and Drew Ever Reunite?

Remember when Carly and Drew were one of the most loved-up couples on “General Hospital?” It was only a few short years ago, but the way that things have radically changed makes it feel more like a lifetime. First, Drew dumped Carly because he thought he couldn’t compete with her ex, Jason. Then, Drew set his sights on Carly’s son, Michael’s wife, Willow. Now, Drew is engaged to Willow and they are both locked in a custody battle with Michael.

Needless to say, Carly doesn’t even recognize Drew these days. Her portrayer, Laura Wright, recently shared her thoughts on her character’s impression of Drew these days with Soap Opera Digest.

Carly Is Focused on Her Son

On the July 15, 2025, episode of GH, Carly and Drew had another vicious confrontation. He showed up unannounced on her doorstep, at first to ask Carly to try to reason with Michael, who currently has full custody of Willow’s children, Wylie and Amelia. When Carly didn’t agree to do what Drew requested of her, he stooped to his usual level of making threats and of course, that didn’t go well.

According to SOD, Laura Wright believes that Carly hasn’t really processed just how bad her relationship has become; she handles him in the moment., “At this point, the only thing she thinks about him is, ‘You are a horrible human being.’ I don’t think she gives herself that much time to think about Drew because, you know, she’d want to kill him! There is not much that she’s loving about Drew,” explains the actress.

Carly Has Also Lost Respect for Willow

Carly’s anger isn’t just with Drew. She has gone scorched earth on Willow more than once. At first, she gave her daughter-in-law the benefit of the doubt and believed that Drew had somehow manipulated her.

Laura reminds us that, “Carly even came out and said, ‘I thought the whole time it was Drew pulling the strings, but you really are this person. This is all you. It is shocking because she really thought that Willow loved Michael. It’s her lack of empathy towards Michael that is most shocking to Carly.”

While a reunion between Carly and Drew appears to be off the table, their war of words and battles on behalf of those they love most are likely to intensify.
