One of daytime’s most legendary actresses is relocating at the age of 86. Susan Flannery, who played Laura Spencer Horton on “Days of Our Lives” and Stephanie Douglas Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” is moving Down Under. Her daughter, Blaise, has lived in Australia for years with her children, so plenty of family time is in Susan’s future!
Her close friend from Days, Susan Seaforth Hayes, shared the news in a new Instagram post.
Susan Flannery Is Joining Her Daughter in Australia

The iconic soap star has been close to both Susan Seaforth Hayes and Suzanne Rogers since the earliest “Days of Our Lives” era. According to Soap Opera Digest, Rogers credits Susan Flannery with getting her hired by the soap.
When speaking about getting the role of Maggie, she said, “Susan Flannery was a big influence. She was walking through the booth at the time the two of us were testing, and she said some very nice things about me, so I understand, and that’s how I got the part. I’ve always had a warm place in my heart for Susan.”
All three ladies got together before Susan’s big move. Much to the delight of soap fans, Susan Seaforth Hayes shared the occasion on Instagram.
“3 Susies have breakfast at Art’s Deli.
The occasion: Susan Flannery, one of the great ladies of daytime or anywhere she turns up- is moving to Australia. Flannery was a beloved mentor and pal to Suzanne and me in our early Salem Days together.
Laughs, love, tears, hugs… just like Salem.
We will miss her.”
Flannery has always been extremely private. Back in 2002, she confirmed that she had an adopted daughter named Blaise. It was recently confirmed that Blaise now lives in Australia with her children.
Susan Flannery’s Soap Career Is Legendary
The actress’s soap career is a dream come true. She earned 10 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actress category at the Daytime Emmys, winning on her first try, in 1975, for her work on “Days of Our Lives.” Three more wins followed for her portrayal of B&B’s Stephanie.
Flannery became the first actress ever to win the Lead Actress award for two different roles on two different soaps. After 25 years on B&B, Susan Flannery retired from acting. She remains close friends with former co-star Katherine Kelly Lang, who has frequently posted photos of the two of them together.
